Luke Grimes is back giving it the old yeehaw in the first action-packed glimpse of Y: Marshals, the upcoming spin-off of Yellowstone. CBS just dropped the first teaser for Y: Marshals via EW, and it’s basically Kayce with a proper law enforcement badge instead of the cow police, and it looks all the more exciting for it. The teaser doesn’t show much, just Kayce on horseback with other Marshals keeping an eye on a train, but you hear his voice talking about looking for a new beginning, which feels exactly right after where Yellowstone left him.
When we last saw him, Kayce wanted rid of his Dutton legacy, and space to carve out a new life free from the burden of the name for himself and his family. But let’s be real — peace has never really been an option for him. With John Dutton dead and the ranch coming apart, it makes sense that Kayce would get pulled into something bigger. Maybe the ranch was too full of ghosts, maybe the world outside needed someone like him more. Either way, him joining the Marshals feels like a natural fit.
