General Hospital has finally unraveled its most recent mystery, revealing that it was Willow who tried to kill Drew Cain. Actress Katelyn MacMullen, who plays Willow in the soap opera, has now shared her thoughts on the shocking truth as well as the recent stabbing scene.
Katelyn MacMullen reacts to Willow stabbing Drew on General Hospital
In a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest, MacMullen opened up about the recent revelation about her character, Willow. In one of the most dramatic moments of General Hospital, viewers find out that it was Willow who had shot Cain. Following a non-guilty verdict, she stabbed him with a needle as well, once he got home.
When asked how it was to film the scene, MacMullen shared, “We just had a blast, to be honest. It’s a stunt, technically, and anytime there’s a stunt, there’s so much that goes into it — it’s all coordinated and planned. And to actually live through it was so fun.”
MacMullen also shared that she learned about the stabbing scene at the same time she found out that Willow shot Cain. “It was before we shot the trial. I think someone was like, ‘She stabs him in two weeks,’ or something like that [laughs] . So I knew I’d have a lot of fun stuff coming up,” the actress recalled.
“At first, I thought she was doing it to try to kill him, but now I think she was probably doing it more so to incapacitate him,” she added.
Later during the interview, MacMullen opened up about exploring this unexpectedly dark side of Willow. Describing the process, the actress said, “It’s exhilarating.”
She added, “It’s also a little bit daunting! I’m so used to her psychology kind of working one way, but now, getting to explore [this material] , I actually feel more connected to the character, in a weird way, because I’m getting to see all sides of her, like how she responds in these extreme situations. It has surprised me, but it has definitely been so fun to play!”
