Rumors are rife on social media that Jordan Peele will be directing Blade, a speculated upcoming Marvel project. The speculation started after Peele’s production company began teasing posts linked to the long-delayed Blade reboot.
Is Jordan Peele directing Marvel’s Blade reboot movie?
As of now, Jordan Peele is not officially attached to direct Marvel’s Blade. However, recent activity from his production company Monkeypaw Productions has fueled heavy speculation on Peele joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The rumors started when an account on X (formerly Twitter) claimed that Marvel Studios wants Peele to direct an MCU movie. The speculation grew after Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions reposted the claim with the eyes emoji, quickly grabbing fans’ attention.
Soon after, Monkeypaw posted another tweet with a photo of Peele with vampire fangs from one of his comedy skits, joking about the internet speculating he was making a Blade reboot.
Monkeypaw reshared the article on its Instagram Story by resharing a story from Complex titled “Jordan Peele’s company teased upcoming Marvel film.” The company added, “Your honor, we are not confirming or denying this.”
Blade remains stuck in development. The movie still has no director and no release date. Mahershala Ali is set to star as Blade, a role Marvel announced back in 2019. Since then, the project has seen several delays, and the release date eventually disappeared from Marvel’s schedule.
Marvel originally claimed the film would carry an R-rating, but director changes and script rewrites slowed progress. Actress Mia Goth remains attached, but the project continues to face delays. However, Delroy Lindo and Aaron Pierre left the project.
