As such, Javi decided to book a ticket to leave the town to stay by his side in Texas. His cousin Gabi tried to stop him, but Javi remained firm in his stand. He told his sister, “I love you. I appreciate you looking out for me.” Gabi replied, “I love you too. And we’re family.”
Further, she asked about his return, but Javi said, “Considering what’s been going on in Salem. I don’t know. Maybe never.” However, Gabi felt hopeful about his return. Javi said, “I can’t put my life on hold until Leo figures things out.” While Gabi understood his condition, she still felt her cousin would come back once his father got well. Thus, the duo decided to say goodbye with a hug.
Last year, it was reported that Calderon had left DOOL following his casting in Brilliant Minds. Sources told Deadline that Javi will be recast and Calderon’s final episodes will air in May of this year.
Further, Cherie Jimenez, who plays Gabi, opened up on the recast with Slasher Scotty. She stated, “The recast is wonderful.” The 38-year-old continued, “He’s great… Because I’m a recast, there’s a camaraderie and there’s also something really beautiful about a new recast coming in and welcoming them and also like honoring that this is their experience.”
