Wednesday season 1 was a ratings hit for Netflix and is considered one of the best entries in the Addams Family franchise, in large part due to Jenna Ortega’s performance as Wednesday Addams and the supernatural elements explored throughout the series. Wednesday season two’s trailer depicts Wednesday embarking on a new adventure to save Enid from her impending death.
Wednesday season 2 will also explore more of the Addams Family’s powers, and also reveal more of Morticia Addam’s past at Nevermore Academy. The Netflix series also looks set to reenact one of the darkest moments depicted in Addams FamilyValues, released 32 years ago.

One of the characters returning for Wednesday season 2 is Uncle Fester, played by Fred Armisen. Throughout the Addams Family franchise, Uncle Fester is depicted as Wednesday’s paternal uncle, and one of the Addams Family members to have supernatural powers, with the capability to generate electricity. Fester’s powers come in handy after he revives Thing at a saddened Wednesday’s request.
Netflix has released new images from Wednesday season 2, which show Uncle Fester in the bathtub and also sitting in an electric chair with the cap on his head. These images of Uncle Fester are reminiscent of his dark and horrifying electrocution scenes depicted throughout the 1993 movie, Addams Family Values.

During her attempt to murder the Addams Family, Debbie is violently electrocuted when baby Pubert sets off the wires to the electric chairs where the entire family are strapped in.

With Pugsley Addams joining Wednesday at Nevermore Academy in Wednesday season 2, the series finally reveals what his supernatural powers are.
Uncle Fester is one of the several characters confirmed to be returning for Wednesday season 2. While his story hasn’t yet been fully confirmed, the upcoming second season will potentially see Fester forming a stronger bond with Pugsley, following the revelation of Pugley’s new electric powers, which are very similar to his uncle’s.
Wednesday season 2, part 1 premieres August 6, 2025, and part 2 premieres September 3, 2025, on Netflix.
Given how terrifying Debbie’s attempt to kill the family is in Addams Family Values, it will be difficult for Wednesday to carry the same level of fear and terror in its electrocution scenes. How the scenes will play out in season two hasn’t been confirmed, but it will be interesting to see how Uncle Fester’s electrocution plays out in the Netflix series.
