The Rip Cast: Every Actor In Matt Damon & Ben Affleck’s Action Thriller

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck headline Netflix’s crime thriller, The Rip, but who else makes up the cast? From writer/director Joe Carnahan, The Rip concerns Miami cops who plan to steal millions from a crime scene, only to find their conspiracy invaded by outsiders. The gritty thrill ride is all about trust, betrayal, and the bonds of loyalty.

The project continues Netflix’s streak of high-profile movies, and the Affleck and Damon vehicle is the latest in a long line of blockbuster films made exclusively for the platform. The Rip was produced by the duo’s Artists Equity company, and they struck a landmark deal with Netflix that involves bonuses for the crew should the movie become a hit.

Ben Affleck As Detective Sgt. J.D. Byrne

Actor: Born in South Korea, Yeun’s family eventually settled in Michigan. Yeun’s breakout role came as Glenn Rhee on The Walking Deadin 2010, and would star in the series until 2016. Afterward, he appeared in the films Okja, Mayhem, and Nope. Yeun starred in the Oscar-winning, Minari, and lent his voice to the role of Mark Grayson on Invincible.

Teyana Taylor As Detective Numa Baptiste

Actor: Teyana Taylor got her showbiz start in 2006 as a choreographer for Beyoncé, and spent more than a decade in the music industry as a singer. She made sporadic film and TV appearances in movies like Stomp the Yard: Homecoming. However, Taylor’s breakout film role came in 2025’s One Battle After Another, where she played dedicated revolutionary, Perfidia.

Actor: Sasha Calle is a relative newcomer. As such, she only has a few major credits to her name. Shortly after breaking into the industry, Calle landed the role of Lola in the soap opera The Young and the Restless, which she played from 2018-2021. Her film debut came in 2023’s The Flash, where she played Supergirl.

Scott Adkins As FBI Agent Del Byrne

Actor: Scott Adkins was born in England, but his most famous roles came in productions outside the UK. The talented martial artist has played many minor roles a henchman and toughs, but also appeared in The Bourne Ultimatum as Agent Kiley. One of his more notable recent roles came as Killa Harkan in John Wick: Chapter 4.
