The Best Sci-Fi Horror Series of All Time Finds New Life on a Surprising Streaming Platform

The MGM+ sci-fi horror series From is widely regarded as one of the best horror shows of all time, possibly even the best. The series has largely flown under the radar on its parent streaming platform, yet it has found a cult following. Hailed for its uniquely intriguing premise, excellent performances, and stunning cinematography, the show has few flaws. This is reflected in its 96% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, with the latest season rated fresh at 100%. New seasons air on MGM+, and past seasons are syndicated to other platforms, including Prime Video, where the show has recently had a resurgence nearly a year after the Season 3 finale.

From stars Harold Perrineau as Boyd, the sheriff of an atypical town. See, once you enter the town, you’re not leaving. You join dozens of others who, for some reason, find themselves stranded in this town where any attempts to leave take you right back to it. It would be easier to start a life if everything in the town operated normally. Nightfall brings horror and suffering when monsters from the woods and underground spaces begin terrorizing the residents, ripping the unlucky to pieces. This town would have more residents if many had not been cheated by these intelligent monsters, meeting gruesome deaths. Surviving is not enough; the residents must find a way out.

When Does ‘From’ Return for Season 4?

It’s been nearly one year since the third season concluded. The show was renewed for Season 4, which began production this year with a 2026 release date being targeted. The season is expected to continue the story where the Season 3 finale left off, providing a massive clue as to how the residents can escape the horrors of the town. “With the culmination of Season 3 we have, in many ways, reached the end of the beginning. In Season Four, a new journey begins. The question is whether it will lead our characters home, or deeper into this unrelenting nightmare,” series creator John Griffin said when the renewal was announced, hinting the show would be ending soon.

Apart from Perrineau, the show also stars Catalina Sandino Moreno(Tabitha), Eion Bailey (Jim), Hannah Cheramy (Julie), Simon Webster (Ethan), Ricky He (Kenny), Chloe Van Landschoot (Kristi), David Alpay (Jade), Corteon Moore (Ellis), Pegah Ghafoori (Fatima), Scott McCord (Victor), A.J. Simmons (Randall), Elizabeth Saunders (Donna), among others. Jeff Pinkner serves as the showrunner, with Jack Bender being the director.
