‘Gladiator II’ (2024)

One of the biggest blockbuster releases of 2024, Gladiator II sees Ridley Scott follow up on his Best Picture-winning historical epic almost 25 years prior. Set 16 years after its predecessor, Gladiator II follows Paul Mescal’s Lucius as he goes on a journey from zero to hero, taking vengeance on those who destroyed his home and looking to bring down a corrupt Roman government. Smile 2 manages to effortlessly balance social commentary and wild horror, with the escalating visual disgust making for a viewing experience not all will be able to handle. ‘Hundreds of Beavers’ (2022)
