Here’s a fun one for you: Steam has quietly made a popular 2022 RPG completely free to download and keep forever. Fair warning though, you only have 24 hours before the deal is up, so you might want to move.
Developed and published by Juvty Worlds, Wild Terra 2: New Lands is an open-world survival RPG that looks an awful lot like a blend of Baldur’s Gate 3 and Valheim. If you get to it before 6pm tomorrow (December 18) then it’s yours for free, forever.

Wild Terra 2: New Landsbills itself as a life-filled medieval world controlled by players. It is, according to Juvty Worlds, an “MMORPG full of details that create a unique immersion and the spirit of adventure.”
Here are some of the things you can do in Wild Terra 2:
- Keep and raise your own pets. When pets level up, you can unlock random bonuses.
- Join raids with friends, explore dungeons and take on massive bosses. You can also play completely alone, if you want.
- Explore a world filled with PvP and PvE zones, as well as mysterious continents with a variety of biomes, inhabitants and conditions. “You decide whether to risk your loot or stay in safe zones. Also, in any dungeon, you can choose the difficulty from Easy to Nightmare. The rewards justify the risk, but the decision is yours!”
There’s a fair bit to do, then. It’s worth noting that since releasing in 2022, Wild Terra 2 has an overall Mixed rating on Steam. That obviously doesn’t mean the game isn’t worth your time, especially if it’s being given away for free, but it’s just a little something to consider.

While Wild Terra 2 is currently free at the point of purchase, many of the reviews from users take aim at the game’s “cash-grab business model” that detracts from the potential for a truly great sandbox RPG. There are other accusations of the game containing pay-to-win elements, as well as there being some performance issues.
With all that in mind, Wild Terra 2 might not be for everyone. But you might as well claim it while it’s still free on Steam and make your own mind up. Or don’t, I’m not the boss of you.
