Star Trek: Strange New Worlds‘ producing director says a heartfelt farewell as filming of the series finale wraps. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has concluded production of the series finale in Toronto, completing the fifth and final season’s 6 episodes.
Paramount+ renewed Star Trek: Strange New Worlds for a shortened 6-episode final season when Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3 premiered in June 2025. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 4 also finished filming in July, and is expected to premiere on Paramount+ in 2023, with season 5 to follow in 2027.
On his Instagram Reels, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ producing director Chris Fisher posted a poignant goodbye to the show as he tours the bridge set of the Starship Enterprise for the last time. As producing director, Chris Fisher hired the other directors of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and set the visual tone for the series. Fisher also directed 6 episodes of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, including the season 1 finale, “A Quality of Mercy,” the season 3 premiere, “Hegemony, Part 2,” and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ series finale.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds‘ actors have also shared their farewells on Instagram as they wrapped filming. Christina Chong, Celia Rose Gooding, Martin Quinn, and Jess Bush have all posted their goodbyes as they hang up their Starfleet uniforms and prepare to go their separate ways for the holidays.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds wrapping filming means the end for the cast and crew, but editing and post-production on the fifth and final season will continue in 2026. Meanwhile, the actors and executive producers will promote Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 4 in 2026, and season 5 afterwards.
Whether Star Trek: Year One, executive producers Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers’ proposed spinoff about Captain James T. Kirk’s (Paul Wesley) first year commanding the Starship Enterprise, happens is unclear. Regardless, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has concluded its five season mission.
However, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds isn’t over for audiences. Completing two seasons so far in advance means fans can still look forward to a total of 16 episodes of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds seasons 4 and 5 to watch on Paramount+ over the next couple of years.
