Square Enix Announces New Game That Will End A Decade-Old Franchise

At any given time, I’d be hard-pressed to remember whatSquare Enixowns or has had a hand in. It’s not just JRPGs: They’ve dipped into tons of different studio projects over the years, and have even cut some loose.

But one franchise has had consistent releases every few years, even if some are remasters or re-releases. Now, they’re releasing another one in March, billing it as an epic conclusion.

Life Is Strange: Reunion Is Coming In March

For A Variety Of Platforms

Square Enix has confirmed to ScreenRant that Life is Strange: Reunion will launch on March 26, 2026, on PC (Steam/Microsoft Store), PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. You’ll be returning to Caledon University, where Max is now teaching photography. Her rewind power is back, and she’ll have to solve a mystery of macabre proportions, attempting to stop a fire that engulfs the school.

Here’s the tagline: “Since the original Life is Strange nearly 11 years ago, iconic characters Max Caulfield and Chloe Price have been through a literal whirlwind of friendship, love, heartbreak, and loss . Now, in a once – thought – impossible return, the two will finally reunite in the upcoming full – length adventure.”

Square Enix notes that Reunion will be the first time players can play as both Max and Chloe in the same game, who will each have different perspectives on the story. Max will have her powers, and Chloe will operate a big differently, utilizing “backtalk, quick wits, and a take-no-prisoners attitude.” It’s through these disparate abilities that they’ll attempt to solve the case together.

Reunion Is The Conclusion Of Max and Chloe’s Story

Life Is Strange Max Rewind Looking At Camera

For reference, the original Life is Strange came out in early 2015, and had an episodic format that concluded in October of that same year. Since then, we’ve gotten numerous games in the series, including ones that don’t directly deal with Max and Chloe specifically.

No matter how invested you are in Life is Strange, Square Enix billing this as the conclusion is a pretty big deal, at least as far as Max and Chloe are concerned.
