During the THQ Nordic Digital Showcase 2025, the publisher revealed SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide, a brand-new game based on the long-running, popular Nickelodeon cartoon. The new trailer showcases its gameplay, as well as its imminent release date.
What is SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide?
From THQ Nordic, SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide is a brand-new 3D platformer where players control SpongeBob and his best friend, Patrick Star, to save Bikini Bottom after King Neptune and the Flying Dutchman’s magic clashed, spreading ghostly creatures across the sea. The trailer below, which features actor David Hasselhoff, gives a glimpse of what fans can expect from the game.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide will release on November 18 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, starting at $39.99. Players who preorder can get the Natural Costume Pack for free. The costumes, or lack thereof, essentially give the titular character a butt flap that shows his full backside, while Patrick is just fully naked. There will be a physical Collector’s Edition of SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide available on all platforms called the Ghostly Edition. This version includes the base game, Steelbook, Natural Costume Pack, Golden Spatula Keychain, 5 Lenticular Cards, The Flying Dutchman Sew-On Patch, and the Tidal Season Pass.
The Tidal Season pass, which can also be purchased separately will include the Plankton’s Portal and Search for SquarePants challenge DLCs, as well as the Search for SquarePants and Double Deluxe costume packs.
THQ Nordic has been releasing games based on the fan-favorite Nickelodeon cartoon consistently as of late. Back in 2019, SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated was released, which was a remake of the beloved platformer. In 2023, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake brought a brand-new platforming adventure to just about every modern gaming platform. Although it’s not under THQ Nordic’s umbrella, the last game to release based on the show was SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game.
