Season 2 of Prime Video’s Video Game Show Is a Streaming Juggernaut

As its second season approaches the finale, one of Prime Video’s biggest genre hits continues to dominate conversation and viewership charts. The platform has begun sharing selective insights into the show’s performance, hinting at its place among the most successful returning series in its catalog.

Prime Video reveals Fallout Season 2’s major streaming success

According to Amazon, Fallout Season 2 is currently its top-performing season since Reacher Season 3, which premiered in February 2025 (via Deadline).

The second season ranks as the sixth most-watched TV season of all time on Prime Video, behind The Rings of Power Seasons 1 and 2, Reacher Seasons 2 and 3, and Fallout Season 1. Among returning series only, Fallout Season 2 holds the No. 4 spot.

Peter Friedlander, Head of Global TV at Amazon MGM Studios, stated: “We are thrilled with the Fallout S2 reception from audiences and critics globally. After its first four weeks, Fallout S2 already ranks as the sixth most watched season ever on Prime Video and is even higher rated on Rotten Tomatoes than S1.” Amazon confirms that 53% of Season 2’s audience is international, with strong viewership in the UK, Germany, and Brazil.

Fallout Season 2 ranks among Prime Video’s five most-watched shows ever among men aged 18–34. Amazon has not disclosed official viewership figures for the season. According to Deadline, sources expect Amazon to wait until the season ends before deciding whether to release the data.

Nielsen reported 794 million minutes viewed during the week of December 15–21. Viewers accessed that total across all nine available episodes. Season 1 generated 2.9 billion minutes in its first five days. Prime Video switched from a full-season drop in Season 1 to weekly episodes in Season 2. That change makes direct comparisons difficult.

Amazon did not submit Fallout Season 2 for the 2026 Golden Globes. The company cited concerns about leaks, since only three episodes would be available by the deadline. Instead, Amazon plans to begin its awards campaign with the 2026 Emmys. It will continue through the 2027 Critics Choice and guild awards.

Prime Video executives have received the pitch for a third season. However, they have not announced a production timeline.
