Resident Alienhas been making audiences laugh and care for Harry, the alien, for four seasons. Led by Alan Tudyk, the series takes us to Patience, a sleepy town that has a lot of drama. Especially because there is an alien among them. But Harry has built a life there. He has his relationship with Asta (Sara Tomko) and now that people like Darcy (Alice Wetterlund) know Harry’s secret. But Season 4 took everything one step forward: He’s more human now than ever before. Harry used the body of the town doctor when he first landed in Patience but now he’s human himself! But what we learned prior to the panel was sad for fans as the series will be ending after Season 4.
At San Diego Comic-Con the cast and crew took to the stage to give us some insight into the series and where Harry and all his friends are going in the last few episodes of the season. The panel wasn’t like other panels at SDCC. Given the news that the series was canceled, it was instead a look back on all four seasons of Resident Alienand what fans love about the show. And one thing the cast hopes is that Tudyk is their lucky charm.
In his past work with shows like Firefly, the show was canceled and fans loved it so much that they brought the series back by concluding the story in movie form with Serenity. While on the panel, they said they hope that one day they’ll get to return to Patience in a movie and see Harry and all his friends once more.
Alan Tudyk As an Alien Is Kind of Perfect
Harry is one of the most perfect roles for Tudyk. He’s been in space plenty of times. Fireflyand Serenitythat kicked off our love of Tudyk in space. After his work in Star Wars as K-2SO in Rogue One and then Andor, Tudyk getting to be an alien with his face has really been a joy to watch. But Resident Alien has been a fan favorite for a reason. We love going back to Patience and with the rest of Season 4 ahead of us, there is a lot to unpack. And while we won’t be seeing our friends anymore, there is still hope that someday we can see Harry again. Just…maybe in a movie.
