WARNING: This article includes spoilers from the Superman movie.The new Peacemaker season 2 trailer has been released, showing more of what’s coming in John Cena’s DC Universe adventure. While the DCU timeline is mostly serving as a reboot for DC Studios, one very familiar player from the DCEU movie timeline will become a key part of Gunn’s superhero franchise.
While it has been three years since season 1 concluded, Peacemaker season 2 will integrate Cena’s DCEU character, along with his supporting characters, into the DCU. Alternative dimensions will be playing a factor, and Gunn previously shared exclusively with ScreenRant that Peacemaker season 2 will be important for the DCU.
The Peacemaker season 2 cast, along with James Gunn, took the stage at Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, with ScreenRant in attendance at the panel, to promote the new season that launches next month. As the show gets ready for its return, a new Peacemaker season 2 trailer was released. Check it out below:
Peacemaker season 2 is scheduled to premiere Thursday, August 21, on HBO Max with weekly releases of each episode. The series is also confirmed to be set after the events of Gunn’s Superman movie, which included a cameo from Cena’s Christopher Smith.
