One of the best games of 2024 is making its way to Xbox Game Pass on November 4, and I urge you to play it if you’re a member. Microsoft’s subscription service has gone through a complete overhaul and is now divided into tiers that offer different catalogs depending on your tier. The release of Super Fantasy Kingdom on Xbox Game Pass, for example, is limited to the Ultimate tier.
The Ultimate tier contemplates day-one releases, such as the aforementioned title. Titles that were released in previous years are often incorporated into the Premium and Essential tiers. For reference, the Ultimate tier contemplates the games that are in the catalogs of lower tiers. October was a great month for the service, with releases like Ball x Pit on Game Pass, but the attention is already shifting toward the current month.
1000xResist Joins Xbox Game Pass
The Title Will Be Available On The Premium Tier
The additions to Xbox Game Pass in November 2024 include a title called 1000xResist. The indie game developed by Sunset Visitor was released in early 2024 for Nintendo Switch and PC, and is making its way onto PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 4, the same date on which it is added to the Game Pass catalog. The game is being added to the Premium tier, meaning that Ultimate players will also have access to it.
With the game’s introduction to the catalog, it should take at least a few months before it is removed. Even so, this is one of the best titles to be added to the subscription service, so playing it as soon as possible is a great way of making good use of your membership.
1000xResist Is One Of 2024’s Best Games
The Indie Game Has A Great Score On Metacritic
1000xResist is one of the best games of 2024. On Metacritic, the game has an 86 Metascore and is tied with titles like Unicorn Overlord, Silent Hill 2, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. This is a mostly narrative game and, while there are some gameplay challenges, it’s its story that carries it forward.
The game was a nominee for game of the year across several awards, including the 2025 edition of the Canadian Game Awards. 1000xResist follows the story of Watcher, a woman who is part of a post-apocalyptic society that worships the Allmother, from whom she and all others were cloned. As the story progresses, you get to learn more about how this society was formed and the Allmother herself.
The game tackles subjects like prejudice, bullying, diaspora, generational trauma, politics, religion, existentialism, and much more in a creative and intriguing way. This is one of those games where the less you know about it, the better. Even so, 1000xResist is one of the most brilliantly written games of the past few years, and its addition to Xbox Game Pass makes the subscription more valuable.
