Netflix has announced they’ve canceled Jake Paul‘s next live boxing match on their platform, but there’s still good news ahead for the fighter. Following Paul’s livestreamed fight with Mike Tyson in late 2024, the boxer was scheduled to fight Gervonta “Tank” Davis on November 14, 2025. The fight was set to happen at Kaseya Center in Miami.
However, Netflix has confirmed the fight between Paul and Davis has been canceled. The plug was pulled after event co-coordinator Most Valuable Promotions began investigating Davis after an October 30 civil lawsuit filed against him. CEO Nakisa Bidarian explained the decision to not move forward with the fight. However, Bidarian did confirm Paul will headline another fight before the year ends:
Our team has worked closely with all parties to navigate this situation responsibly. While we will not be moving forward with this event, our plan still remains for Jake Paul to headline an event on Netflix in 2025. Details regarding a new date, location, Jake’s opponent, and additional bouts will be shared as soon as they are finalized. We thank Netflix, the Kaseya Center, and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for their partnership.
The lawsuit was filed against Davis by a woman accusing him of attacking her at Miami Gardens strip club Tootsie’s Cabaret on October 27. The woman had known Davis since 2022 and previously had a five-month relationship with him before the attack. Following the fight’s cancellation, Paul posted on X, calling Davis “an actual walking human piece of garbage.“
More information about Paul’s next fight in the ring will be revealed at a later date. For now, Netflix announced those who purchased tickets for the Jake vs. Tank fight through Ticketmaster will have them refunded within the next 14 to 21 days, while those bought through other vendors will need to contact them for a refund.
Paul’s post-Tyson boxing career has seen him grow more successful in the ring. His latest win was against Julio César Chávez Jr. in July, where he got a unanimous decision in a 10-round cruiserweight fight. Paul’s fight against Davis was supposed to be his second in the ring for Netflix, which will now be changed to something different.
It’s unclear what the event Paul headlines will be, nor who he’d be fighting against. Given Netflix’s continued expansion into live events, it makes sense they’d want him to still be involved in something before the end of the year. However, the setup will likely be much smaller than his fight with Davis was planned to be.
Still, now that Paul‘s match with Davis has been canceled, it opens the door for the fighter to have a match less embroiled in controversy and legal issues. Netflix’s clear dedication to ensuring the boxer is able to participate in a live match means they’re committed to making up for the cancellation with a fitting replacement event.
