Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown has reportedly filed a harassment complaint against on-screen dad, David Harbour.
It has been alleged via the Daily Mail, that Brown filed a complaint against Harbour with claims he “bullied and harassed” his co-star. This comes after accusations from estranged wife Lily Allen of cheating. The source states:
“Millie Bobby Brown filed a harassment and bullying claim before they started shooting the last season. There were pages and pages of accusations. The investigation went on for months.”
Brown, known as Eleven, starred alongside Harbour as Jim Hopper in Netflix’s series Stranger Things. Hopper adopts Eleven and shares heartfelt moments as father/daughter throughout the show, and the actors appear to be close while attending press tours together. Stranger Things is set in the ’80s and follows a group of children as they discover Hawkins has hidden evils awaiting the moment to strike.
Allen’s accusations were laid bare in her latest album, West End Girl, which features songs including “Pussy Palace” that detail Harbour’s alleged infidelity during their four-year relationship. The source has stated that it’s “unfortunate” timing for the allegations due to Harbour’s career trajectory, and one of the most highly anticipated releases for Netflix is arriving soon.
The source who has alleged the harassment complaint was filed has stated they aren’t surprised by Netflix’s silence. “Netflix will never comment on an internal investigation, but the fact they’ve not denied it speaks volumes. Stranger Things helped put Netflix on the map. Millions of fans around the world have been anticipating the finale. No one wants anything to take attention away from that.“
Harbour’s career rose significantly due to his appearance in Stranger Things. He has worked on Marvel projects, including Thunderbolts*, but he’s also starred in Violent Night, Gran Turismo, and Black Widow. He is set to appear in Marvel’s newest movie, Avengers: Doomsday, as the Red Guardian next year.
Brown’s breakout role was in Stranger Things, and she has appeared in other projects, including Enola Holmes and Damsel. The young actress also has a successful beauty brand named Florence by Mills.
Netflix is set to debut the first four episodes of its highly anticipated final season of Stranger Things later this month (November). The series has generated over $1 billion in revenue for Netflix since 2020 and has an overall Rotten Tomatoes rating of 92%.
Netflix, Harbour’s representatives, Brown’s representatives, and Stranger Things’ creators Matt and Ross Duffer have declined to comment on the alleged filing.
