Marvel’s Venom Game Gets Huge Update From Reliable Source

The long-rumored Marvel’s Venom spin-off has just gotten a promising update from a reliable source, adding more proof of the Spider-Man 2follow-up’s existence. Ever since the Lethal Protector first appeared in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 back in 2023, fans have been buzzing about the possibility of Venom getting his own Insomniac game.

An inside source speaking to MP1strecently shared some interesting details about Marvel’s Venom, which they claim could already be in pre-production as of this writing. They say that Insomniac is still prioritizing Marvel’s Wolverine, so they aren’t ready to confirm a release date. However, they think that the Venom game could come out as soon as 2027.

This would depend on any changes to the project’s scale, as previous leaks claimed that Marvel’s Venom would be similar in size to 2020’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Another source claims that Eddie Brock will be the host of the Venom Symbiote instead of Harry Osborn this time around, and that Venom will be visually closer to his comic counterpart.

Marvel’s Venom Is Reportedly Still In Development

The Game Was Leaked During The 2023 Insomniac Data Breach

The Marvel’s Venom game was first leaked during the 2023 Insomniac data breach, which revealed several of the developer’s future projects in addition to personal data from the development staff. While much of the leaked data was related to Marvel’s Wolverine, the breach listed a standalone Venom title being planned for release in 2025, as well as an X-Men game.

The new leak also claims that Eddie will become Anti-Venom at some point during Marvel’s Venom, though he will be more monstrous in appearance than Peter Parker’s Anti-Venom suit at the end of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Story-wise, Eddie would be more in-control of this new persona, just like how Peter was able to use the remnants of the Symbiote.

Venom was briefly playable in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, giving fans an exciting taste of what a standalone title starring the Symbiote monster could be like. Furthermore, the end of Spider-Man 2 leaves open the possibility of Venom returning for more adventures, especially with a new host given Harry’s eventual fate.

There is also the issue of Cletus Cassidy, who was featured in a side quest in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 that hinted at him becoming the nightmarish Carnage in a future game. The data breach suggested that this would happen in a Spider-Man 2 DLC campaign, but this never came to pass.

Instead, Insomniac could follow this thread up by having Carnage be the main villain in its planned Venom game, and previously leaked slideshow images reportedly feature Cassidy as the Symbiote-empowered killer. Of course, none of these details have been officially verified yet, so fans would be wise to remain skeptical.

That being said, MP1st did report on Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined before it was officially confirmed during September 2025’s Nintendo Direct, so there might be some credibility behind these new Marvel’s Venomclaims. In the meantime, Marvel’s Wolverine is also in development, with sources claiming that it could launch in 2026.
