Krysten Ritter and Kiernan Shipka Are on Each Other’s Last Nerves In ‘Stone Cold Fox’ Sneak Peek [Exclusive]

Krysten Ritter (Marvel’s Jessica Jones) simply doesn’t have time for bad jokes in Collider’s exclusive sneak peek of the upcoming action-loaded thriller, Stone Cold Fox. The latest movie to come from Vertical also serves as the first foray into feature-length filmmaking for its helmer, Sophie Tabet, who has previously backed shorts including The Lonely Whale and Croque Monsieur. With a co-starring performance from Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), the movie centers around one young woman’s attempt to break free from a crime-driven cult led by a ruthless queenpin known as Goldie (Ritter). Set for a cinematic arrival on November 7, the movie packs a classic ‘80s crime thriller punch with some serious star power and engaging storyline to boot.

Breakfast is incredibly tense in our new look at Stone Cold Fox, where Ritter’s Goldie sits at the head of the table and addresses her followers. As the group sips their orange juice and gleefully digs into the bacon and eggs that sit at the center of the table, Goldie catches the others up on their latest “lucrative deal,” promising them that by next week, they’ll have “a real pool” on the compound. Vibes are high, as the members beam from ear to ear and high-five one another thanks to the good news just as Goldie asks them to raise a glass to toast the memory of her father — who taught her everything she knows about the business. The touching moment is quickly interrupted by Fox (Shipka), who sits to Goldie’s right, when she makes a joke that rubs the dangerous leader the wrong way and is quickly reminded why Goldie is the queenpin that she’s become.

Joining Ritter and Shipka in this fun, colorful, and thrilling throwback to our favorite action genre of the past is a magnificent lineup that also includes Kiefer Sutherland (The Lost Boys), Karen Fukuhara (The Boys), Jamie Chung (Sucker Punch), Mishel Prada (The Continental), Gabrielle Maiden (The Electric State), Spenser Granese (Better Call Saul) and more.

What Is ‘Stone Cold Fox’ About?

Seeking care and community in all the wrong places, Fox (Shipka) finds herself involved with Goldie’s (Ritter) gang of criminals. As our sneak peek unveiled, whatever warm and snuggly feelings were once plentiful between the leader and follower eventually run their course, and Fox looks for a way out. Upon finding her exit, Fox digs up numerous piles of cash that Goldie’s been storing underground and makes a break for it, only to find herself in even more trouble after she discovers that Goldie and her gang have kidnapped her younger sister. With no other choice, Fox walks directly into Goldie’s trap in hopes of saving her sibling and maybe even escaping with her own life.
