Join the Anti-Kaiju Defense Force Before Season 2 Hits With New ‘Kaiju No. 8’ Funko Pops

Before Season 2 airs on Crunchyroll, Funko has released its Kaiju No. 8 collection, featuring several figures based on the characters on the show, three of which have a limited Chase counterpart. This collection is scheduled to arrive later this year, so now is a good time to pre-order these, especially when you’re after the exclusive figures.

Six products are now listed on the Funko Website, with a price tag of $14.99 each. They include the likeness of Kafka Hibino, Mina Ashiro, Reno Ichikawa, Kikoru Shinomiya, and two different Kaiju No. 8 figures. Both Kaiju No. 8 figures and Mina Ashiro figures have Chase variants, which feature a distinct design that makes them stand out even more. For example, Mina’s Chase figure has her using her weapon rather than just holding it, as seen in the standard figure. While they’re not available for pre-order on the Funko website, they’re now available for purchase on third-party outlets like Entertainment Earth and are scheduled to ship this August.

Speaking of Entertainment Earth, this online outlet has an exclusive Mina Ashiro figure that’s only available on their website. This figure not only features the likeness of the Anti-Kaiju Defense Force captain, but also Bakko, the “tiger,” who stands alongside her. This figure will cost $15.99 and will also ship in August 2025.

Kaiju No. 8 is one of many collections that Funk has released that contain a Chase Figure, giving collectors and fans a 1 in 6 chance to get an alternate version of their favorite character. Other shows like Dan Da Dan, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Solo Leveling,and Spy x Family have also featured a chase figure that can only be obtained via pre-orders.

What’s ‘Kaiju No. 8’ About?

Kaiju No. 8 is an anime series based on the ongoing manga by Naoya Matsumoto, which takes place in a world where destruction by kaiju monsters is a regular occurrence, and it’s up to the Japanese Anti-Kaiju Defense Force to combat them. The show follows Kafka Hibino (Nazeen Tasha), who has made many attempts to join the Anti-Kaiju Defense Force, but fails. One night, a small larva-like creature enters his body, giving him the ability to turn into a humanoid kaiju monster.

While they are in different franchises, Kaiju No. 8 has teased a potential crossover with the iconic Japanese Kaiju icon, Godzilla. While no project has been confirmed or greenlit, this is something that’s showcased occasionally via the anime’s official social media platforms.

Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 airs on July 19, 2025. In the meantime, you can stream Season 1 on Crunchyroll.
