Jason Statham will always be known for his role as Deckard Shaw in the Fast & Furious movies, but three years after he joined the F&F universe, he starred alongside a Chief of War veteran for an action thriller dominating streaming charts. Statham features opposite Chief of War’s Cliff Curtis and Rainn Wilson (The Office) in The Meg, the 2018 kaiju thriller following a crew whose rescue mission to the bottom of the ocean is compromised by a giant, prehistoric shark. The Meg is currently streaming on HBO Max in the United States and Netflix globally, where it’s one of the top 10 movies in America and other countries like Saudi Arabia and Morocco. The Meg earned scores of 47% from critics and 44% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and it grossed $529 million at the box office against a $130 million budget.
