Is There a Task Episode 8 Release Date & Time?

Viewers are wondering if there’s a Task Episode 8 release date and time. This is because they have seen all seven episodes that were released and are wondering if there’s more to be told in Tom Brandis’ story. The crime-drama series was helmed by Brad Ingelsby, notable for his work on Kate Winslet’s Mare of Easttown.

Here’s everything you need to know about the release date and time of Task Episode 8.

Task Episode 8 release date and time explained

There is no confirmed release date and time for Task Episode 8. This is because the series has ended with its seven-episode run.

Task has been billed as a limited series. Thus, it’s currently unclear if there are plans for a second season with more episodes. Moreover, HBO has not officially addressed renewal plans.

Despite this, Ingelsby admitted in an interview with Esquire that he would love to do a second season. “I’d love to have a chance to do another season of Task,” he shared. “What I love about TV is just how many characters you get to explore.”

Ingelsby continued, “I really see myself as a character writer and not a great plot writer. And so what I love about TV is that you get to explore the Grassos, the Lizzies, the Aleahs. If I was to do a movie, unless I was Robert Altman, I just wouldn’t be able to tap into that many characters.”

The story follows Tom Brandis (Mark Ruffalo), a former Catholic priest and FBI agent suffering from a personal tragedy. He leads a task force in stopping a string of robberies committed by Robbie Prendergrast (Tom Pelphrey), a seemingly ordinary family man who deals with several personal life troubles. During their respective endeavors, Tom and Robbie come into conflict with a mysterious gang, The Dark Hearts.

Has Task ended?

Yes, Task has finished. This is because the final episode has aired.

Task concluded with its seventh episode, “A Still Small Voice,” released on October 19, 2025.

Where to watch previous Task episodes

You can watch Task via HBO and HBO Max.

HBO is a premium television network and service operated by Home Box Office Inc., in turn owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. Meanwhile, HBO Max is a subscription-based streaming platform, also owned by Warner Bros. Discovery.

The series’ synopsis reads:

“In the working-class suburbs of Philadelphia, an FBI agent heads a task force assembled to put an end to a string of violent robberies led by an unsuspecting family man.”
