Who would have thought Taylor Swift would be involved with a show like Phineas and Ferb? Today, very few people. However, back when her career was starting, Swift’s ties to Disney Channel were evident, if a passing phase. Although it may not be the best Taylor Swift album, her debut record was warmly welcomed when it was released in 2006 and is still a beloved staple of her discography. “Our Song,” her OG hit single, is actually one of the best songs in the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour movie, simply due to the sheer nostalgia.
However, Swift really broke through with her 2008 album Fearless, also her first Best Album of the Year win at the Grammys. By this time, there was certainly a huge overlap between the Swifties and Disney Channel’s viewership, her music and the network both offering family-friendly but heartfelt coming-of-age narratives that appealed to young children as well as high schoolers. Taylor Swift was never one of the stars who got their start with Disney Channel, whom the studio could claim as “theirs,” but it was clear that they wanted to work with her, so they offered her some cameos.

Taylor Swift played a bigger role in Hannah Montana: The Movie than you may have known, and we got the best of both worlds from the budding pop star.
This includes episode 5, “Taylor Swift,” which aired on Feb. 18, 2011, a few months after the release of Swift’s third album, Speak Now. Swift talks to the boys about her favorite parts of performing and teaches them how to do her signature hair flip (the two of them quickly come up with some curly, blonde wigs for the lesson). The creators of the show also certainly had an understanding of who Swift was to their target demographic, which aligned with the characters depicted in Phineas and Ferb.
For instance, while Isabella (Alyson Stoner) is usually a consummate professional as the boys’ stage director throughout Take Two with Phineas and Ferb, she is noticeably excited when she announces Swift. Candace (Ashley Tisdale), meanwhile, usually remains aloof and committed to busting the boys for having a talk show — but she entirely freaks out when she sees Swift, coming on stage to ask her own questions and take selfies with the star.

Typically, the boys and their cohort ended up doing a bit that leaned into the talents of the celebrity they were interviewing. For instance, Doofenshmirtz (Dan Povenmire) joins the discussion on a video call to ask Neil Patrick Harris for tips on doing an evil laugh. Phineas and Ferb also features many voice cameos from some of the best stars in the industry, as well as recurring Disney Channel actors of the 2000s, such as Billy Ray Cyrus, Corbin Bleu, and Brenda Song. However, Take Two with Phineas and Ferb is a more unique and genre-bending take on hosting an iconic guest star.
Would Taylor Swift Ever Do Phineas And Ferb Again?
Maybe, If She Likes The Show & It Doesn’t Take Too Much Time
Taylor Swift has risen in fame far above Phineas and Ferb by now — we all know that. However, a cameo, perhaps voicing one of the colorful side characters of the Tri-State Area, is not entirely outside the realm of possibility. When the Phineas and Ferb creators discussed Jonathan Banks’ cameo with ScreenRant, they teased some major upcoming guest stars in Phineas and Ferb season 5, including some they were shocked to have gotten. Swift herself seems to have a decent professional relationship with Disney, and if she has any fondness for the old-school Disney Channel properties, she might agree to it.

Phineas and Ferb comes back as good as ever, and starts on some new storylines for Phineas, Ferb, Candace, the rest of Danville.
Disney Channel provided Swift with some fun opportunities to promote herself to exactly the right audience back when she was the world’s biggest rising star, also including her cameo as a performer at a fundraising event in 2009’s Hannah Montana: The Movie. Additionally, recording some lines for Phineas and Ferb now wouldn’t take too much time out of her schedule, and could potentially be done from the comfort of her home. Acting is largely not the focus of Swift’s career nowadays, but she still takes on some small movie and TV roles, and her fans will always adore seeing things like this.
