Hulu’s new TV and movie releases for January 5-11, 2026, include the premiere of Best Medicine and A Thousand Blows Season 2.
Best Medicine premieres on Hulu on January 5, 2026. The medical comedy drama is based on Dominic Minghella’s ITV series, Doc Martin, which aired between 2004 and 2022. The story follows Martin Best, an incredibly successful doctor who leaves his career in Boston and moves to an East Coast fishing village, where he vacationed as a young boy, and starts a small practice. However, Best’s blunt and nigh-rude attitude clashes with the quirky and needy nature of the locals, making it hard for him to settle.
A Thousand Blows Season 2 hits Hulu on January 9, 2026. Helmed by Steven Knight, the show follows two Jamaican friends, Hezekiah and Alec, who find themselves navigating London’s East End’s criminal underworld. The pair cross paths with several prominent criminal figures, like Mary Carr, Queen of an all-female criminal gang called the Forty Elephants, and Sugar Goodson, a boxer and criminal kingpin.
Other major releases for Hulu this week include The Rookie Season 8 and Will Trent Season 4.
The Rookie is a police procedural comedy-drama following John Nolan, a middle-aged rookie police officer who eventually becomes a training officer. Meanwhile, Will Trent follows the titular protagonist, a special agent in the Georgia Bureau of Investigation who grew up in a turbulent foster care system.
