Heated Rivalry, the hit hockey TV show on Crave and HBO Max, received an exciting update about a potential Season 3.
What is the Heated Rivalry Season 3 update?
Heated Rivalry has already been renewed for Season 2. However, a Season 3 could be on the horizon.
During an interview with GQ, stars Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie revealed that they have signed on for three seasons of Heated Rivalry. Crave has only greenlit two seasons, but it’s safe to assume that the show’s overwhelming popularity could lead to a third season.
Heated Rivalry is a Canadian sports drama about two professional hockey players who embark on a secret romance. Shane Hollander (Williams) is the Asian-American captain of the Montreal Metros. Ilya Grigoryevich Rozanov (Storrie) is the Russian captain of the Boston Raiders. On the ice, Shane and Illya are two of the biggest stars in hockey. Off the ice, the two rivals are drawn to each other and become lovers.
“Over the next eight years, the pair chase glory on the ice while struggling to navigate their feelings off it,” the official synopsis reads. “Torn between the sport they live for and the love they can’t ignore, Shane and Ilya must decide if there is room in their fiercely competitive world for something as fragile and as powerful as real love.”
Besides Williams and Storrie, Heated Rivalry stars François Arnaud, Robbie G.K., Callan Potter, Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova, Sophie Nélisse, Christina Chang, and Dylan Walsh.
Award-winning writer-director-producer Jacob Tierney created Heated Rivalry for Crave, a Canadian streaming service. The show is based on Rachel Reid’s Game Changer book series.
Heated Rivalry is Crave’s most-watched original series. HBO Max agreed to distribute the show in the U.S. and Australia shortly before the Season 1 debut in November. In the U.S. it’s one of the top five scripted debuts on the service this year.
Heated Rivalry Season 1 consists of six episodes. The Season 1 finale is scheduled to air on December 26, 2025.
