The latest episode of Hazbin Hotel Season 2 drew back the curtains on Angel Dust‘s past, giving some insight into why he had killed his father. So far, Angel Dust has been one of the key characters on the show since the beginning, but a lot of things about him have remained shrouded in mystery. This episode finally gave some insight into Angel Dust’s past.
Why did Angel Dust murder his own father in Hazbin Hotel?
So far, it was not clear why Angel Dust was in hell after all. However, it turned out that Angel had killed his own father. In this episode, the show gave a glimpse into Angel Dust’s past for the first time.
While the episode did not explicitly reveal why or how Angel murdered his father, some hints could be used for a close approximation.
In this episode, Vox asks if his father “hit” him. This seems to indicate that Angel Dust may have been a victim of abuse. His father was a high-ranking Italian Mob boss, which could further explain why he would abuse Dust.
Moreover, Angel being queer would only add to the possibility that he was abused by his father. Moreover, Angel died in the 1940s and grew up around the turn of the century, which further hints that he was a member of the queer community at a time when it was deemed immoral.
Hence, there is a possibility that Angel killed his father in self-defense.
Perhaps Hazbin Hotel will eventually decipher the tragic backstory, now that it has finally started probing into Angel’s past. His “sin” of killing his father will be a crucial part of his story going forward. Perhaps, it will be one of the defining storylines of the season.
The third episode of Hazbin Hotel Season 2 is now streaming on Prime Video.
