Durin’s complete gameplay kit in Genshin Impact has been leaked, thanks to the ongoing Version 6.2 beta tests. The action RPG developed by HoYoverse has just entered Version 6.1, the second patch in the Nod-Krai story arc. The update brings a series of new content, including the reveal of Nefer, character banners, and new story missions that further push the Traveler’s quest.
There’s still a lot to do and see in Version 6.1, as the current update progresses, and special events will be added for players to participate in. Even so, the Version 6.2 beta tests have commenced, and with them, several leaks are being shared. There have been details about a new free weapon in Genshin Impact 6.2, for example, which will be good for certain sub-DPS characters.

The Pyro Character Uses A Sword In Combat
Now, according to a compilation of leaks from the beta tests, shared on Honey Hunter World, Durin’s complete gameplay kit has been detailed. As was previously speculated, Durin is a 5-star Pyro sword user. The previous leaks hinted that Durin is a Pyro sub-DPS in Genshin Impact, and this has been somewhat confirmed in the newest leaks.
The leaked gameplay kit highlights all of the character’s active abilities, such as Durin’s Normal Attack and its variations, his Skill, his Burst, as well as his passive Talents. There were previous rumors about Hexenzirkel mechanics for Durin, and that has also been confirmed – though it seems the faction’s official name will be “Magic” rather than the group of witches.

The Pyro Character Can Enter Different Forms
According to the leaks, Durin’s Normal Attacks will follow the standard for most sword users, though it can be changed. The leaks say Durin has two variations of his Elemental Skill in Genshin Impact. Using his Skill, Durin goes through an Essential Transmutation. With the transmutation triggered by his Skill, Durin’s Elemental Skill is replaced with the special Elemental Skill Transmutation: Confirmation of Purity.
Meanwhile, the Normal Attack Radiant Wingslash will be replaced with the special Normal Attack Transmutation: Denial of Darkness. By using his Skill again, now with the Confirmation of Purity, Durin deals 1 instance of AoE Pyro DMG to nearby opponents, reversing the Essential Transmutation, and entering the Confirmation of Purity state for 30 seconds.
When attacking with his Normal Attacks provided by Denial of Darkness, Durin deals 3 consecutive instances of Pyro DMG to opponents in front, reverses the Essential Transmutation, and enters the Denial of Darkness state for 30 seconds. In whichever state Durin enters with the end of the Transmutation, Durin will restore a certain amount of Elemental Energy.
This Nod-Krai character in Genshin Impact also sees his Elemental Burst change based on his state, according to the leaks. If Durin is in the Confirmation of Purity state, he uses the Elemental Burst Principle of Purity: As the Light Transforms, dealing 3 instances of AoE Pyro DMG to opponents in front, and manifesting his power in the Dragon of White Flame form. The Dragon of White Flame follows the current active character and periodically attacks nearby opponents, dealing AoE Pyro DMG.
The leak says that if Durin is in the Denial of Darkness state, he uses the Elemental Burst Principle of Darkness: As the Stars Smolder, dealing 3 instances of AoE Pyro DMG to opponents in front, and manifesting his power in the Dragon of Dark Decay form. The Dragon of Dark Decay follows the current active character and periodically attacks a single nearby opponent, dealing Pyro DMG.
In terms of modifiers, which are still heavily subject to change, the damage caused by the Denial of Darkness and Dragon of Dark Decay is higher than that of the Confirmation of Purity state and the Dragon of White Flame. According to the leak, when Durin is not in a special state as a result of Essential Transmutation, he uses the Elemental Burst Principle of Purity: As the Light Transforms.
When it comes to passive Talents, Durin will gain 25% more rewards when dispatched on a Mondstadt Expedition for 20 hours. His other passive grants him buffs after using Burst in specific forms. With Dragon of White Flame, after nearby teammates trigger Burning, Overloaded, Pyro Swirl, or Pyro Crystallize reactions on an opponent, that opponent’s Pyro RES, and the RES for the corresponding Element involved in the reaction, are decreased by 20% for 6 seconds.
With Dragon of Dark Decay, Durin’s Vaporize DMG is increased by 40% and his Melt DMG is increased by 40%. His third passive sees that when Durin undergoes Essential Transmutation in Genshin Impact, his Burst DMG is increased by 50% of his ATK for some seconds. The maximum Burst DMG increase achievable this way is 1,000.
Lastly, after The Witch’s Homework: Of This World is completed, Durin becomes a Magic character. When the party includes at least 2 Magic characters, you gain the Magic: Secret Rite effect, which enhances Magic characters. Magic: Secret Rite increases all effects of the passive Talent that buffs reactions by 75% (except for the duration).
Why Durin Will Be A Great Pyro Character In Genshin Impact
Durin May Be Versatile & Even Work With Melt Teams
While his DMG modifiers are still likely to be worked on during the beta tests, Durin has the kit that could make him a great Pyro sub-DPS unit. The buffs he gets for the Pyro-related reactions make him work with a plethora of elements, which in turn makes him versatile for various team comps.
The initial concern was that he would be limited by the Magic users, but seeing how it works in his complete kit, they will actually complement his kit. There were leaks about a Mona buff in Genshin Impact, which have now been confirmed, as seen on Reddit. Durin will be able to work with other non-Magic characters and still have buffs simply by having a Magic character in the team.
A lot has yet to be seen, and expectations should still be managed, but there is hope that Durin could truly live up to the potential of characters like Mavuika, for example. As the beta tests progress, more details about Durin in Genshin Impact should arise.
