General Hospital’s Cynthia Watros on if Nina & Willow Will Ever Reconcile

Cynthia Watros isn’t ready to count Nina out just yet. As General Hospitalcontinues to stir up emotions with its latest mother-daughter fallout, Watros, who plays Nina Reeves, opened up about the heartbreaking turn of events between Nina and Willow Tait. The actress broke down the tension, the timing, and whether there’s any hope for reconciliation.

Cynthia Watros says ‘Nina will never give up’ on reconciling with Willow on General Hospital

In General Hospital’s July 25 episode, Willow finally confronted Nina after discovering she had slept with her fiancé, Drew Cain. The revelation shattered the already fragile relationship they had fought so hard to rebuild. While fans were left wondering whether Willow would still walk down the aisle, the mother-daughter dynamic now appears to be back at square one.

Watros explained why Nina didn’t tell Willow the truth sooner. “I think Nina really wanted to tell Willow,” she said in an interview with TV Insider, adding, “But the fear of losing Willow triumphed over wanting to be honest with her daughter.”

Nina did plan to confess eventually, but by the time she worked up the courage, Willow had already heard the truth from Curtis. Before stepping into this important scene, Watros shared that she added a raw, unscripted line that summarized Nina’s emotional breaking point: “This is it. It’s enough. This is enough.”

But Nina’s moment of vulnerability came too late. Willow confronted her mother with anger and hurt, pushing her away once again. Watros admitted filming those scenes came with mixed emotions because of her real-life bond with co-star Katelyn MacMullen. “It’s easy in one respect, because she’s so prepared, and she’s so on it, and it’s difficult in the other respect because I love her so much,” she said.

After the fallout, Nina is devastated but not defeated. “Nina will never give up,” Watros said, making it clear that her character remains committed to winning back her daughter’s trust. “I hope they come back together. I love that Nina gets to have family, because it does mean so much to her.”

Their storyline will be unfolded in the upcoming episodes.
