On Rotten Tomatoes, Gen V Season 2 recently debuted with a whopping 100% rating. As more reviews come in, the series dipped down to the 90s, with most critics still heavily praising the second season, which premieres on September 17, 2025.
Over on Variety, Alison Herman praised the second season, saying that the social commentary from The Boys remains intact, and that Gen V “rests on the shoulders of its heroes, well-intentioned people struggling to tell real heroism from the pre-packaged kind. Fortunately, they’re still up to the task.”
ComicBook’s James Hunt also loved the second season, calling it “bigger, bloodier” and something that “might be even better than The Boys.” The Boys is also no stranger to massive praise, having scored above 90% on Rotten Tomatoes across all of its seasons.
