Eva Green’s 29% Rotten Tomatoes Action Movie Is a Global Streaming Success

Dirty Angels, the 2024 action film starring Eva Green(Dark Shadows),has emerged as a global hit on Amazon Prime months after its December 13 release. The Martin Campbell-directed film is trending in the Top 10 across multiple countries on the platform. Dirty Angels tells the story of a group of female soldiers posing as medical relief during the 2021 U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. In addition to Green, the cast features an ensemble including Jojo T. Gibbs, Ruby Rose, Christopher Backus, and more.

Based on FlixPatrol’s numbers, Dirty Angels is ranked #1 in Argentina, Chile, and Colombia as of July 25, 2025. The filmalso holds strong positions in other countries such as Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Mexico, where it rests at #2. Despite an underwhelming 29% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes, the action thriller has accumulated 166 points on FlixPatrol’s Amazon Prime global ranking chart this week. That places it at #4 globally on Prime for July.

The film grossed $63,203 internationally with releases in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. While it didn’t find much success at the box office, Dirty Angels seems to have found a second life on streaming. Made against a budget of £36 million, Dirty Angels was filmed in Morocco and Millennium Media’s Nu Boyana Film Studios in Thessaloniki, Greece, according to Greek Reporter.

Eva Green’s Latest Project Is a Twisted Thriller Alongside Samuel L. Jackson

Green is set to star in the upcoming Just Play Dead alongside Samuel L. Jacksonand Money Heist breakout star Maria Pedraza. The upcoming thriller is directed by Homefront’s Gary Fleder and written by Dan Gordon of Rambo: Last Bloodfame. The film follows Nora (Green), the cunning wife of criminal mastermind Jack Wolfe (Jackson), as she’s caught in a deadly scheme involving her husband and lover.

The synopsis reads: “As lies unravel, Nora and Jack scramble to outsmart one another, leaving one burning question: Who will come out on top in this twisted game of life and death?” Production is set to begin this fall in the Canary Islands, Spain. Just Play Dead is a European co-production led by Head Gear Filmsand Gemstone Films, with Highland Film Group co-financing and handling international rights.

Deadline reports that Fleder referred to the film as a genre-blending thriller with unexpected twists. According to the director, the story is “Provocative, sexy, and original.” Highland Film Group CEO, Arianne Fraser promised that Green and Jackson are expected to deliver “captivating” performances, while COO Delphine Perrier admitted that the film’s premise is already attracting global buyers. “Gary Fleder is the ideal director to bring this enticing and suspenseful project to life,” she added. A release date for Just Play Dead has not been locked in yet.
