Apple TV+ has shared the official trailer for DownCemetery Road, the upcoming mystery thriller led by Academy Award winner Emma Thompson. It is based on Slow Horses author Mick Herron’s novel of the same name. This marks Thompson’s first major TV project in a long while, after starring in HBO’s 2019 miniseries Years and Years.
The eight-episode series is scheduled to debut on October 29 with the first two episodes. It will then be followed by new episodes every Wednesday through December 10.

What happens in Emma Thompson’s Down Cemetery Road trailer?
The video introduces Thompson as Zoë Boehm, a tenacious private investigator whose next mission leads her to a conspiracy involving an unusual explosion, a missing girl, and a massive government cover-up. She forms an unlikely duo with a concerned neighbor, who was the one sought out for her help with the case. Together, they must uncover the truth before it’s too late.
Down Cemetery Road is written and executive-produced by Morwenna Banks, with Natalie Bailey serving as the show’s lead director. The ensemble cast includes Ruth Wilson, Adeel Akhtar, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Tom Goodman-Hill, Darren Boyd, Tom Riley, Adam Godley, Sinead Matthews, Ken Nwosu, Fehinti Balogun, and Aiysha Hart. Executive producers are Herron and Thompson, along with 60Forty Films’ Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, and Tom Nash.
“When a house explodes in a quiet Oxford suburb and a girl disappears in the aftermath, neighbor Sarah Trafford (Wilson) becomes obsessed with finding her and enlists the help of private investigator Zoë Boehm (Thompson),” reads the official synopsis. “Zoë and Sarah suddenly find themselves in a complex conspiracy that reveals people long believed dead are still among the living, while the living are fast joining the dead.”
