Ever wanted to go to an anime-themed café but couldn’t because most of them are in Japan? Well, good news, as Los Angeles has opened its very own official One Piece café, allowing fans the opportunity to eat like the King of Pirates and get their hands on exclusive merch not found anywhere else.
The One Piece Café Los Angeles is located in Little Tokyo at 241 S. San Pedro Street, and it opened its doors on August 2, 2025, where the first 100 guests received some free One Piece goodies to take home. Additionally, the menu items for this café are themed around hit shōnen anime, with one of them resembling Monkey D. Luffy, and another featuring a Gum-Gum fruit.
Toei Animation released a video before the end of July, showcasing what this themed café looks like, previewing some of the merch sold at the venue, as well as the decor filled with bounty posters, a Monkey D. Luffy cutout standee, a screen that shows Sanji cooking in the kitchen, and a glimpse of the delicious food that you can order, just to name a few. According to the One Piece Café website, Los Angeles is the second location for this food establishment, following the one in Las Vegas.
Where Can You Find Other Anime-Themed Cafés?
Most anime-themed cafés are located in Japan and mostly require a reservation to enter. One of the most popular ones is the Pokémon Cafe, located in Tokyo and Osaka, where attendees need to book a table a month in advance to enjoyPokémon-themed meals or be willing to wait outside the venue if spots become available last-minute. While many of them have permanent addresses, some of them are pop-up venues and are only around for a limited time.
While there aren’t a lot of anime-themed cafés in the USA, you can find a few in amusement parks. In Universal Studios Hollywood, there is a Hello Kitty & Friends Café for those who enjoy anything Sanrio-themed, as well as a restaurant based on The Simpsons. Additionally, both Hollywood and Orlando’s Universal Studios theme parks have Toadstool Café, a Super Mario Bros-themed restaurant located at Super Nintendo World, allowing fans to grab a taste of the Mushroom Kingdom with its video game-themed menu.
