AMC+’s first Interview With the Vampire spin-off is shaping up to be quite the experience. During AMC’s Anne Rice universe panel at San Diego Comic-Con, audiences were treated to a special sneak peek at the upcoming series Anne Rice’s Talamasca, which premieres sometime this year, lead by Downton Abbey’s Elizabeth McGovern.
The clip features McGovern’s Helen, who leads the Talamasca’s New York offices, recounting her beginnings with the mysterious organization to Guy Anatole (Nicholas Denton), a lonely man with strange and unusual powers. Standing in an abandoned building that used to be a Talamasca facility, she reveals that she was introduced to the secret society at just eight years old, and she flashes back to her childhood, being tested for powers with another, similar-looking young girl.
What Else Do We Know About the Spin-Off?
The six-episode series, the third in AMC’s spooky universe after Interview With the Vampire and Mayfair Witches, is set to follow the titular group of men and women responsible for tracking and containing the witches, vampires, and other magical creatures around the globe. Alongside McGovern and Denton, AMC also just announced that William Fichtner is joining the series as Jasper, a mysterious American with control over the Talamasca’s London Motherhouse.
Also starring is Jason Schwartzman, playing a turncoat vampire assisting the Talamasca in their work, as well as Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Eric Bogosian, reprising his role from Interview With the Vampire as the recently turned vamp/journalist Daniel Molloy. The series is set to begin production next month in Manchester, England, aiming for a release date in the latter half of this year, arriving ahead of the third season of Interview.
Anne Rice’s The Talamasca has not yet set a release date. Stay tuned to Collider for more news from SDCC as it arrives.
