Fans of Days of Our Lives have often questioned whether Robert Scott Wilson’s Ben Weston could return to Salem, especially since the actor has gained new recognition as Alex Kiriakis. Wilson recently addressed the possibility of Ben’s comeback and what it might mean if the two characters ever shared the screen.
Here’s what we know so far.
Robert Scott Wilson wants Ben to return and meet Alex on Days of Our Lives
Robert Scott Wilson revealed that despite Ciara’s homecoming, there were no plans to bring Ben back for the emotional farewell to John Black. The actor clarified that the storyline explained Ben was simply holding down the fort at home while Ciara made the trip to support her family.
“There was nothing,” he shared with Soaps.com. “It was kind of like Ben was doing his thing and she came back just for that period of time, to bring the family together during such a difficult time. He was at home in their bed.”
While Ben remained off-screen, Wilson hasn’t closed the door on the idea of bringing him back. In fact, he revealed that he would love to see Ben and Alex meet on the show. “I would love for that to happen in terms of Ben truly meeting Alex. I think it would just be really great to have that moment more than anything. And who knows? It could be really funny. Who knows? But I think there could be something there,” Wilson said.
When asked about the possibility of juggling both characters, Wilson acknowledged that it would be exciting but demanding. Soap fans know that dual roles aren’t new to daytime TV. Wilson admitted he’d be up for the challenge but joked about the toll it could take on him. “You know, I think the opportunity to just play two roles at the same time would be great,” he said. “Except my sleep schedule would be a mess. I would not do well.”
For now, Wilson continues to thrive as Alex, but fans can’t help holding out hope for Ben’s comeback.
