One of Doctor Who‘s titular Time Lord’s main mantras is to, above all, be kind. This is an aspect of the character that the lead actor needs to hold with them beyond the camera, often gracing the stages of charity functions and helping grant the wishes of fans. Now, two of the show’s best-loved lead actors, David Tennant and Peter Capaldi, are returning to the sci-fi franchise to do just that alongside fellow alumni.

As reported via Radio Times, Tennant, Capaldi, and other Doctor Who icons, including Jodie Whittaker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Chris Chibnall, Steven Moffat, and Hugh Bonneville, have contributed to Sophie Aldred‘s new book all about the famous jacket of her former TARDIS traveling companion, Ace. Split into two parts, with the first being called Ace’s Jacket: The Inside Story, the book is set to generate funds to help support Autism All Stars and the National Autistic Society, two hugely important charities. In an interview with BBC News, Aldred spoke about the project, saying:

“I went off to various Doctor Who alumni like David Tennant, Chris Chibnall… I said to them, ‘Could you write a story about one of the badges that takes your interest?’ I got in touch with a lot of the people I know, I collared people at parties and conventions. They’ve written little short stories or poems – we’ve had paintings, we’ve had cartoons, we’ve had all sorts. It felt like something really great to do for charity as well. We wanted to choose charities which had some kind of association with Doctor Who and there’s a lot of Doctor Who fans who do have autism. I’ve met so many of them. They’re such incredible, amazing people. I just really felt that it would be good to raise some awareness and some money as well for for these charities.”
