Buffy Star Reveals Exciting New Project, And Fans Of The Show Will Love It

Buffy the Vampire Slayeractress Charisma Carpenter has announced that she will be launching a new podcast in which she watches Buffy and Angel. Carpenter portrayed Buffy fan-favorite character Cordelia Chase throughout the show’s first three seasons before continuing the role on Angel, appearing in all five seasons of the spinoff series. Following Angel‘s conclusion in 2004, Carpenter has been a regular at fan conventions, frequently appearing with other Buffy and Angel talent. In 2023, the actress lent her vocal talents as Cordelia for the audiobook, Slayers: A Buffyverse Story.

On June 24, Carpenter posted a TikTok video sharing that she’ll be releasing a Buffy and Angel watch podcast on her Patreon page called The B*tch is Back in which she will watch all episodes of both series. In character as Cordelia, Carpenter informed her fans that in addition to watching the shows “for the first time,” she will be bringing on “special guests with stories you will not want to miss.” The video revealed one of these guests to be Julie Benz, who played vampire Darla on Buffy and Angel. Check out Carpenter’s full announcement and video below:

Carpenter: Charisma Carpenter here, to tell you that I have a new podcast called The B*tch is Back. But instead of me telling you about it, why doesn’t the b*tch herself take a stab, hmm?

Carpenter as Cordelia: Okay, since you’ve all been begging me to do this, I’m going to be watching everything. For the first time. I’m going to bring on special guests with stories you will not want to miss. Because when it comes to podcasting, I’m the queen.

Carpenter then released a follow-up TikTok video the next day, further clarifying what her podcast would be about. The actress revealed that she’s never fully sat down and watched Buffy and Angel, despite attempting to do so with her son over a decade ago. She announced she would be watching the series chronologically, and that it is accessible through her Patreon page. Watch Carpenter’s follow-up video below:

It Just Became A Lot More Exciting To Be A Fan

Buffy and Angel ended over 20 years ago, but the fandom is still going strong, and their passion has paid off. Not only was a Buffy reboot officially confirmed earlier this year, but Sarah Michelle Gellar will be reprising her role as the titular Slayer. While this is thrilling news for Buffy fans, all anyone can do is wait for casting announcements and other updates to trickle in. That’s why the timing of Carpenter’s podcast couldn’t be more perfect.

While many fans may be trepidacious about the reboot, it’s hard to argue that Carpenter’s first-watch podcast is anything but good news. What’s more, there couldn’t be a better Buffy star to launch it, as Carpenter has been incredibly active in the fandom community for decades.
