Apple TV’s ‘Yellowstone’ Replacement Continues To Dominate Global Streaming Charts 1 Month After Its Debut

Apple TV has struck gold in the Alaskan wilderness. With new episodes of staple hits like Slow Horses and The Morning Show rolling out week after week, one would think there would be an all-out war for the top spot on the streamer’s global Top 10. Alas, there is but one title that has sat at the top of the chart since its grand debut aired earlier this month. That would be the Jason Clarke-led action-centered crime thriller, The Last Frontier. In the days since the network’s original series burst onto screens on October 10, audiences around the world have faithfully tuned in to watch the pulse-pounding action and high-stakes drama play out, helping it carve out the number one spot and not let go.

Although no Season 2 renewal has been announced at this time, it seems more than likely that the platform will want to push through with more where that came from, considering the show’s global takeover. For those unfamiliar, The Last Frontier channels the things viewers love about shows like Yellowstone and Jack Ryan, then flips them on their head before dropping the main characters into the Alaskan wilderness. Starring Clarke as a US Marshal named Frank Remnick, the story follows a flight filled with some of the country’s most dangerous prisoners after it crashes just outside of Fairbanks, Alaska. With high-risk fugitives now on the loose, Frank has his hands full protecting his beloved town and those closest to him. Meanwhile, the CIA soon gets involved when they discover that one of the runaway convicts is a man they’ve been trying to detain for quite some time.

Meet the Team Behind ‘The Last Frontier’

The parallels between The Last Frontier and other hit shows of today or yesteryear aren’t completely hard to understand when you learn that the man behind the series is none other than Jon Bokenkamp. Although he’s been involved in a multitude of other successful small-screen productions, Bokenkamp is best known as the creator behind the 10-season-running James Spader-led crime thriller, The Blacklist. Meanwhile, many of the gorgeous shots that have sucked audiences into The Last Frontier were all under the vision of its frequent director, Sam Hargrave, who fans will know from Netflix’s Extraction film franchise.

In addition to Clarke’s leading role as the rough and tough US Marshal, The Last Frontier also features dynamite performances from an impressive ensemble that features the talents of Dallas Goldtooth (Fallout), Dominic Cooper (Mamma Mia), Simone Kessell (Yellowjackets), Haley Bennett (The Girl on the Train), Alfre Woodard (Star Trek: First Contact) and Tait Blum (For All Mankind).

The Last Frontier is now streaming on Apple TV.
