5 Years Later, I’m Finally Playing This RPG Masterpiece FREE On PS Plus

While it has been out for some time now and undergone significant changes since its release, Cyberpunk 2077 has slipped under my radar for the past five years for various reasons. However, after it was added to PlayStation Plus for free recently, I ran out of excuses and finally dove in for my first experience with the game.

I can’t offer the same perspective that players who have been there from the beginning might, but I can say that, so far, this has been one of the most unique and original RPGs I’ve played. I’m sure the experience early in its release was a bit more troublesome and less refined, but as a newcomer to Cyberpunk 2077, I can wholeheartedly recommend it.

Cyberpunk 2077 Is Free On PS Plus

No More Excuses

Five years after its release, I’ve finally jumped into Cyberpunk 2077. The game is currently free on PlayStation Plus, making it incredibly accessible for anyone who has been on the fence or was hesitant to take the plunge. Many players have likely avoided spending big on Cyberpunk 2077due to its problematic launch, but you can’t beat free, and the game is in a considerably improved state.

Cyberpunk 2077 has undergone significant transformations over the years. With multiple updates, bug fixes, and the game-changing Phantom Liberty expansion, it’s unrecognizable from some of the early reviews. Night City feels alive and immersive, with a top-tier setting, intense storylines, and a deep RPG system that I found incredibly fun.

As A First-Timer To Cyberpunk, It’s An Unmatched Sci-Fi Experience

Maybe It Was Worth The Wait

I can’t say I’m mad that I waited this long to play Cyberpunk 2077, as I probably wouldn’t have enjoyed it quite as much at launch and likely would’ve regretted spending the money on it at the time. However, I’m fully willing to pay for it once it eventually leaves the PS Plus catalog, and definitely plan on taking advantage of it as much as I can while it’s still free.

If you’ve been waiting to jump into Cyberpunk 2077 because of its various hiccups in the past, this is the time to do it. It’s an unmatched sci-fi experience that does cyberpunk aesthetics better than any game I’ve ever played, as you’d probably expect.

The huge open world, engaging progression systems, and fluid combat have me sold on the experience, and it’s worth trying out if you are a PlayStation Plus member. This is one of the better deals you’ll find on the service, and with games like Lies of P being added for free as well, it might be a sign that PS Plus is stepping its game up finally.

Overall, Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that I have been reluctant to spend money on since its release five years ago. However, after getting my hands on it thanks to PlayStation Plus, I’m impressed with the world, its characters, and quests, as well as the open-world immersion.
