In the days leading up to the “Greek Tragedy” episode of FBI: Most Wanted in the 2025 TV schedule, I’d been imagining a case that would somehow parallel a tragedy of mythology to follow up on last week’s cliffhanger resolution for Ray. Instead, the “Greek” referred to fraternity life on a college campus (which was fortunately not Hudson University of Law & Order: SVU fame). It was a pretty twisted case, and Remy wasn’t there to lead the task force due to his vacation. His absence was jarring to me at first, but paid off in pushing Hana and (to a lesser extent) Barnes into the spotlight.

It’s no secret that the New Girl cast had a lot of fun together on set, and they still shout each other out. Zooey Deschanel and Max Greenfield are the latest to add to the classic Fox show’s discourse by shading former co-star Lamorne Morris while presenting at the SAG Awards show. The ongoing banter and gentle roasting likely fuel the hopes of many fans regarding the possibility of a New Girl revival. And with the hilarious 4D flatmates continuing this chemistry off-screen, I think we can safely say they can recapture the magic that made the show work.

The mystery surrounding President Bradford’s death will be resolved and Xavier will not die at the hands of Sinatra or her allies.

Confirming that the president’s killer is a Paradise character who has already been introduced bodes well for the reveal feeling earned. Sinatra told Xavier that the killer’s DNA was not from any of the 25,000 people inside the underground community. This means that the murderer is an outsider and, up to this point, has probably only been seen in the flashbacks. Xavier is confirmed to survive, but there is still no guaranteed safety for his children and the rest of the characters.

Brown’s comments potentially support the theory that President Bradford’s former aide, Marsha (Amy Pietz), is behind Paradise‘s murder mystery. Episode 7’s flashbacks show her being left behind when Xavier, President Bradford, and the rest of a select group escape to the underground community. She and her family being abandoned would give her a reason to find and kill the president. Xavier finding Marsha and identifying her as the killer is the first of many steps he will need to take to survive and ultimately be reunited with all members of his family in Paradise.

Godzilla and the other monsters in the world have changed their allegiances to each other and to humanity in the last 70 years, and some of the most notable have gone from vicious enemies to some of Godzilla’s most loyal allies. Some of Godzilla’s most noteworthy movies are defined by him tag-teaming with another monster to take down powerful villain team-ups that threaten the world. Whether co-existing peacefully on Monster Island or taking down the baddest monsters to ever plague the planet, Godzilla’s relationship with his allies is central to his lore.

With each decade of Godzilla movies, the alignment of Godzilla’s intentions has changed, and with it his relationship to other monsters. As each version of the primary Godzilla timeline has progressed, new monsters have risen up to take on Godzilla, with admittedly very few of them transforming into allies if they survive their first encounter with the radioactive lizard. However, seven monsters from his history began as enemies before joining forces with Big G to take on monstrous and menacing threats.

Kumonga

The Giant Spider Helped Take Down King Ghidorah

Kumonga doesn’t have the most inventive design, as he is essentially just a giant spider. Originally native to Sollgel Island, Kumonga appeared as the primary antagonist in 1967’s Son of Godzilla, which saw Godzilla and his smooth-bodied offspring Minilla take on the insect kaiju after he had already proven himself a deadly threat by killing one of the island’s remaining Kamacuras. Kumonga was ultimately killed by the combined atomic breath of Godzilla and Minilla in the climax of Son of Godzilla.

However, a second Kumonga (with an eerily similar design, of course) appeared the very next year in the kaiju battle royale movie Destroy All Monsters. That Kumonga lived in peace in Monsterland, which is not to be confused with Monster Island, until King Ghidorah and the alien Kilaaks threatened the world. Kumonga then teamed up with Godzilla and the rest of Earth’s monsters, and Kumonga was part of the tag team (along with the larval Mothra) that encased King Ghidorah in silk and webbing. He then returned with his fellow monsters to live in peace.

Kong

Kong Was One Of Godzilla’s Earliest Enemies

Long before their long-standing beef in Legendary’s Monsterverse, Godzilla and Kong did battle across Japan in 1962’s kaiju classic King Kong vs. Godzilla. King Kong was just the second monster Godzilla ever battled in his movie career, and he even wound up beating Godzilla in their final climactic battle. Their animosity continued in Godzilla vs. Kong before they finally put aside their differences to conquer the greater threat to themselves and the world at large, Mechagodzilla. They teamed up again in Godzilla X Kong, and as it stands they have developed an uneasy truce, sticking to their own territories.

MOGUERA

The Mechagodzilla Replacement Built To Stop Godzilla

The robot monster Moguera made his debut in Toho’s 1957 non-Godzilla movie The Mysterians, but he was reimagined during the Heisei Era as an alternative to Mechagodzilla, which had not been able to destroy Godzilla in their previous battle. MOGUERA actually stands for Mobile Operations Godzilla Universal Expert Robot Aero-type, but before it could be called into battle against Godzilla, it was sent to stop an unidentified anomaly from space, which wound up being SpaceGodzilla. MOGUERA was nearly destroyed by Godzilla’s cosmic clone, but was salvaged and repaired by G-Force.

From there, MOGUERA was sent in against SpaceGodzilla again, this time working side-by-side with Godzilla to defeat the ultra-powered doppelgänger. While they were able to team up and destroy SpaceGodzilla’s crystalline power source, MOGUERA was destroyed in the process, never to return to Godzilla’s filmography. Despite MOGUERA and Godzilla never actually coming to blows, it was created for the sole purpose of destroying Godzilla, qualifying him as an enemy-turned ally.

Shimo

The Powerful Titan Fought Godzilla, But As A Victim

Shimo’s relationship with Godzilla is interesting, only because audiences don’t know the whole story. The Titan with the world’s most powerful attack certainly begins Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire as an enemy of Godzilla, but only due to her being controlled through pain by the evil ape Titan Skar King. She and Godzilla do battle both in the Hollow Earth and on the surface, and while Godzilla never feels truly threatened, Shimo is clearly among the most powerful enemies he’s ever faced. They wind up aligned once Skar King’s hold over her is broken.

Shimo first appeared in an in-game cave painting battling Godzilla in 2022 as part of a collaboration between Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire and the military first-person shooter game Call of Duty.

There is reason to believe that the two were allies in the past as well. When Alan Jonah and Dr. Emma Russell release Ghidorah in Antarctica, they do so by breaking the ice that encases his entire body. The novelization of Godzilla X Kong reveals that it was in fact Shimo who froze Ghidorah in the first place. That points to her and Godzilla sharing the same role as guardian Titans, even if Godzilla may have been the Alpha Titan even in antiquity once Ghidorah was dispatched.

Rodan

The Giant Pteranodon First Changed Alliances In The Same Movie

Rodan is one of Toho’s oldest monsters, and one of a very few to get his own solo movie before clashing with Godzilla. Eight years after his debut, Rodan and Godzilla battled each other to a draw early in Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster. However, they were soon stopped by the larval Mothra, who begged them to unite against the greater threat of King Ghidorah. It was only when Mothra took on the powerful dragon on her own that they put aside their differences, and the three monsters teamed up to stop King Ghidorah.

Since then, Rodan and Godzilla have mostly lived in peace as allies, with Rodan even sacrificing his own life to power up Godzilla during the Heisei Era, Mothra-style. Their relationship was reset for the Monsterverse, as Rodan’s behavior designated him as a destructor Titan. He bowed before Ghidorah when he defeated Godzilla initially, and after teaming with Ghidorah against Godzilla and Mothra he eventually recognized Godzilla as the Alpha Titan, leading them back to at least peaceful coexistence.

The Ultimate Force For Good Began As An Answer To Godzilla’s Destruction

Like Rodan, Mothra debuted in her own solo movie before battling Godzilla for the first time in the 1964 classic Mothra vs. Godzilla. In the movie, an old and dying imago-form Mothra travels from her home on Infant Island to the Japanese mainland to protect her own egg from a rampaging Godzilla. She fights knowing that she will never return home, but knowing that she will be reborn when the egg hatches a new larval form. The adult Mothra manages to defeat Godzilla temporarily before dying, and eventually her twin larva also battle and defeat Godzilla.

Since then, Mothra has more often than not been a steadfast ally of Godzilla. As the Queen of the Monsters, she and Godzilla have a sort of symbiotic relationship, a notion that the Monsterverse picked up for the characters. As a steadfast defender of Earth, Mothra has had occasion to battle Godzilla since they first battled together in Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster, but only when Godzilla became a real threat to the world.

Godzilla actually killed Anguirus in the first battle, but a new Anguirus appeared in Destroy All Monsters that was one of Godzilla’s most effective allies. That same monster tag-teamed with Godzilla to fend off the alien monsters of Godzilla vs. Gigan.

The fantasy genre might be the most beloved globally, with fans from all over the world enjoying stories about magical heroes, mythical tales, and mysterious twists. The fantasy genre encapsulates a lot of what people love: it shows a world where all things are possible, and nothing and no one is unusual or expendable. There, every underdog can become a hero, and every hero understands his companions.

This appeal and adoration is attractive to showrunners, but they can’t just put any sort of storyline in motion. So many shows in the fantasy genre have the tendency to lose their quality at some point, whether it’s because the showrunners decided to take a bite bigger than they can chew or because they keep digesting the same things over and over. As much as people wanted to love them, these fantasy shows were ruined after their first season (with some having their fate obvious even in the first).

‘Fate: The Winx Saga’ (2021–2022)

With the animated Winx Club story being the cornerstone of many pre-teens’ lives, the stakes were high when the live-action adaptation Fate: The Winx Saga was announced. Initial impressions were unfavorable due to casting choices, which was enough for the Netflix original series to be deemed lackluster. Still, season one was praised for world-building and atmosphere, leading people to find their favorite show from when they were a teen and feel like it was adapted for more adult audiences.

Fate: The Winx Saga follows fairies who can control different elements: the protagonist Bloom (Abigail Cowen), a fire fairy; Stella (Hannah van der Westhuysen), a light fairy; Aisha (Precious Mustapha), a water fairy; Terra (Eliot Salt), an earth fairy; Musa (Elisha Applebaum), a mind fairy; and Beatrix (Sadie Soverall), an air fairy. Their adventures and the beginnings of their friendship are documented throughout the series, providing a darker spin on the Winx Club. With season one being received fairly well, things went significantly downward in the ratings for season two, with the initial doubts of the show being flat and lacking magic coming out as more obvious with time. The show was canceled, and no one really complained.

‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ (2022–)

While it might be safer to say that The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power never really had a dedicated audience, its second season was definitely less appreciated. Since the initial Lord of the Rings trilogy from the 2000s, filmmakers have struggled to replicate the movies’ otherworldly success. Even Peter Jackson, the trilogy director, tried to get back into it with The Hobbit trilogy, but the magic of his first trilogy could never be imitated. That’s why people’s initial reactions to The Rings of Power were one of overwhelm and skepticism.

The Rings of Power is a prequel to the well-known stories about Frodo and Bilbo Baggins; it follows events that take place thousands of years before them, showing the creation of the Rings of Power, as well as the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron. Some of its issues include condensing thousands of years of storyline in the books into several episodes, and taking on too many plots to make sense. While the critics gave the series some generosity and observed the show objectively, the audience’s consensus was that they were unhappy, with interest in the show declining after the first season.

‘Riverdale’ (2017–2023)

Riverdale ended recently, but if there were any fans that stuck with the entire show from 2017, those were hardcore believers in the story and its characters; or perhaps they just didn’t want to start something and not follow through. Though Riverdale‘s had ups and downs, when Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa adapted the story from an Archie Comics original, he managed to attract a wide audience with his mystery teen drama with fantasy elements.

Riverdale is a story about a group of high school students in the small titular town of Riverdale. When gruesome murders start happening in town, Archie (KJ Apa), Betty (Lili Reinhart), Jughead (Cole Sprouse), and Veronica (Camila Mendes) start investigating cases that carry more than just a murder mystery. The show’s first season was praised for great writing and characters, making it one of the more successful comic book adaptations. However, after the first season, Riverdale became an outlandish and campy representation of a teen drama; the writing was no longer as good, and people made compilations of awkward Riverdale moments on social media.

‘Once Upon a Time’ (2011–2018)

Though Once Upon a Time has an interesting premise – it’s a live-action adaptation of the world’s most famous fairy tales and fantasy stories – it’s easy for such a show to get lost in its own brilliance. With critics praising season one for a brilliantly innovative premise of reviving classic fairy tales, it was often put on lists of the most promising new shows and among the best of the year.

Once Upon a Time follows two parallel timelines – one set in the real world, where Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and her son Henry (Jared Gilmore) move to a small town in Maine called Storybrook; and the other set where all the fairy-tale characters live. Henry realizes that most Storybrook residents are actually specific story characters. For example, Mary Margaret (Ginnifer Goodwin) is Snow White, while David (Josh Dallas) is Prince Charming. With further seasons introducing more new characters, the show gradually lost viewership. By the end of the show, the viewership numbers were reduced by around five or six times. The show took on too many new characters, piling onto a simple plot; it became too much of an effort for people to watch Once Upon a Time.

‘Witches of East End’ (2013–2014)

Witches of East End was based on the novel of the same name by Melissa de la Cruz, which was one in a series of books that followed the Beauchamp family. The show was received well in its first season, often being called campy but fun; fans of the source material were not that happy with the adaptation, as it made the dark atmosphere of the book lighter, but there was still commotion when Witches of East End got cancelled after two seasons due to low viewership.

The show follows Joanna Beauchamp (Julia Ormond), a powerful witch and mother to new-generation witches, Freya (Jenna Dewan) and Ingrid (Rachel Boston). Unlike in the book, Freya and Ingrid don’t know about their and Joanna’s abilities; only after an incident happens that is blamed on Joanna, do they realize they’re powerful witches. While Witches of East End was one of the most viewed shows on networks during its first season, there was a lot of promise for the story going forward. After that, season two was welcomed with a lot less enthusiasm, and people abandoned the show during the season’s runtime for overcomplicated storylines and pacing issues.

‘Stranger Things’ (2016–2025)

Stranger Things has seen ups and downs in terms of production, mainly the final, fifth season being affected by the writers’ strike in 2023. That could be why people kind of stopped caring what happens in Stranger Things, though that’s not the only reason. It started as a strong sci-fi/horror/fantasy story that many tried to replicate after its release. The show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers, resolved to make the show feel nostalgic and encapsulate the geek culture of the 1980s. Stranger Things is still one of Netflix’s most successful original projects.

The show follows a group of friends in their early teens: Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), and Will (Noah Schnapp). Will starts seeing unusual things and gets kidnapped one day; as the search for him goes, the rest of the boys encounter a girl with superpowers, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown). Fans were happy to hear news of season two, because Stranger Things successfully evoked a retro nostalgia that was hard to shake. Still, when they began leaning too much into it in the later seasons, the show’s quality started to dwindle. It seemed like it became nostalgia bait a lot more, using the same premise again and again. They did manage to make a villain into one of the biggest heroes of the story, which is probably the best part of the latter seasons.

‘The Witcher’ (2019–)

The Witcher is a story by Andrzej Sapkowski, a Polish author who wrote eight novels about the eponymous witcher named Geralt of Rivia during the 1990s. The books were adapted into comic books first and then a highly-popular video game in the 2000s, until 2019, when Henry Cavill, a fan of the source material, stepped into Geralt’s shoes and starred in one of the most anticipated fantasy TV shows of the time. The first season was received well, and was true to the original story, often finding itself on a list of the best book adaptations.

The Witcher series centers on Geralt of Rivia (Cavill), but also on Princess Cirilla of Cintra (Freya Allan), who is Geralt’s “gift of destiny,” and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra), a sorceress; the story follows their adventures individually, until their timelines become intertwined. With all the praise of season one, expectations were high for The Witcher‘s later installments, but something didn’t feel right. Though season two wasn’t terrible, in the bigger scheme of things, The Witcher grew tired of the clichés it tried to adopt, and the viewership for season 3, according to stats, declined 30%.

‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ (2018–2020)

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa first developed Riverdale, and then connected Chilling Adventures of Sabrina to that universe. It wasn’t his idea, though, as the two shows were initially Archie Comics originals, adapted for the screen by Aguirre-Sacasa. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is also a darker reboot of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, a story about Sabrina Spellman (Melissa Joan Hart) and her two aunts, Zelda (Beth Broderick) and Hilda (Caroline Rhea), as well as her magical black cat, Salem (Nick Bakay). The show promised a darker twist on Sabrina’s life, with all the additions of witches worshipping various dark entities.

Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) is a high-school student in Greendale; she is just beginning her education as a witch, and is learning from her aunts, Zelda (Miranda Otto) and Hilda (Lucy Davis), whom she also lives with. The first season, in which Sabrina comes into her identity as a half-human, half-witch, is interesting and a great twist on the well-known story. However, after the first season’s second half, the show becomes darker and crazier in certain ways. Though it was never meant to be a mild depiction of a witch’s life, it still became too loopy and out there for fans to take it seriously. Fun fact: Netflix had legal problems with the Satanic Temple over the show, which may point to its later episodes’ path.

‘American Gods’ (2017–2021)

Developed by Bryan Fuller and Michael Green

Neil Gaiman‘s American Gods was a big literary hit in the 2000s; blending dark fantasy with Americana and mythology, American Gods was, for a moment, the ultimate novel about ancient myths and legends set in modern times, told through modern characters. When the series was announced, expectations were high, and the first season met those expectations with great praise. People’s favorites were cast well, and the story followed the book closely; there was not a lot of room to make a mistake.

American Gods‘ protagonist is Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle), who is first seen being released from prison; sometime before, Shadow learns his wife Laura (Emily Browning) has died, so he hurries home for her funeral. Shadow encounters Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane) during his trip home and becomes a part of a conflict between the Old and New Gods. Season one received widespread acclaim and awards, but it’s an obvious example of a show riding a high of its first season’s success. With season 2, the reviews were more mixed, while the third got some favorable comments before the show was canceled. American Gods suffered a change in showrunners, which was also a change in the overall result – feeling uninspired, dragging, and using beloved characters to buy time.

‘Heroes’ (2006–2010)

Heroes is one of the most promising shows of the 2000s. When it first aired, there was optimism in the air that a good sci-fi/fantasy show with superheroes would be the next great network series. Evoking the appearance of a classic comic book, the show’s visual design and storytelling felt unique, and the first season not only garnered critical and audience praise, but it was NBC’s biggest TV show during the airing of its first season.

Heroes follows regular people who realize they have superpowers, adding how their abilities impact their livelihood. Some of the main characters include Peter Petrelli (Milo Ventimiglia), who can imitate others’ abilities, Claire Bennett (Hayden Panettiere), who can regenerate, and Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka), who can manipulate space-time. The first season showed viewers likable characters to cheer for, but the later installments declined in popularity the further they went. The decline felt painfully obvious, but people really wished to cheer for Heroes; the later seasons have too many character filler episodes and too much of a convoluted plot that begins to feel irrelevant with each installment. As time went on, viewers gave up on the show that promised to be one of the greats.

With Wind and Truth out of the way, these are some of the most compelling theories for Arc 2 of The Stormlight Archive. With dozens of published novels, The Stormlight Archive is commonly believed to be the opus of Brandon Sanderson’s career, as it’s his most extensive and complex series. Wind and Truth’s ending marked the conclusion of his first set of five books, and it will be followed by another set of five in the coming years. The recent book is Sanderson’s biggest volume yet (and that’s saying something), and it laid the foundation for several upcoming narratives.

With everything we know about Roshar and the Cosmere universe as a whole, there are infinite possibilities for theory-crafting. In fact, theorization is going to be all The Stormlight Archive fans have for the next set of years. Brandon Sanderson’s upcoming books include several Cosmere titles to round out the decade, but he’s taking a break from The Stormlight Archive following Wind and Truth. The next book in the series is expected to hit shelves in December 2031, meaning a seven-year gap between volumes. In-world, there’s expected to be ten years between books 5 & 6.

Shallan Will Return To Roshar As An Older Woman

Shallan Won’t Be Able To Avoid The Time Bubble

Shallan Davar fulfilled her arc in The Stormlight Archive Arc 1 by finding self-acceptance, fulfilling her love with Adolin, and defeating the Ghostbloods. Unfortunately, she found herself stuck in Shadesmar at the end of the book with no way to return to Roshar. To make matters more dire, she’s also pregnant with Adolin’s child.

It seems likely that Shallan will be forced to worldhop in order to make her way back, creating an Interstellar-like dilemma.

Shallan will be spending the time gap between books trying to find her way back to Roshar, but the time bubble surrounding the planet complicates matters. She can remain in Shadesmar, still in Roshar’s bubble, but if she travels to another planet, time will progress faster for her than it will back home. It seems likely that Shallan will be forced to worldhop in order to make her way back, creating an Interstellar-like dilemma. By the time she’s able to return, she and her children could be older than when we last saw them.

Valor Is Hiding Somewhere On Roshar (Explaining The Fourth Moon)

Valor Could Be Roshar’s Fourth Shard

Out of the Shards of Adonalsium, Valor is one that has remained a significant question mark. We’ve known that Roshar has three moons for a while, with their colors believed to represent the Shards Odium, Honor, and Cultivation. The reveal of a fourth moon hypothetically means a fourth god, leading fans to suspect Valor. The fourth moon shattered and crashed into the planet before even Honor arrived, leaving behind a strange metal.

As for Valor’s whereabouts, Endowment stated in her letters to Hoid that she sent aid to Valor, which could be referring to Nightblood. Nightblood and Vasher come from the planet Nalthis, where Warbreaker takes place and Endowment is the Shard. If she sent Valor help, it could imply that Valor is already on Roshar, right under Retribution’s nose, and has been plotting something the entire time.

Lift Will Be The Primary Hero Of Arc 2 (Filling Kaladin’s Role)

Lift’s Training With Zahel Will Be Game-Changing

With Stormlight leaving Roshar, the orders of the Knights Radiant are essentially null for the time being. Given that Lift’s power comes from Lifelight, the Investiture form of Cultivation, she’ll still have access to her powers and irregular way of consuming her energy. As shown in the graph below, we also know that Lift will be the main flashback character of book 6.

With Lift being the first POV flashback character for The Stormlight Archive’s next volume, she’s perfectly suited to have an arc that mirrors Kaladin’s from The Way of Kings. We’ve seen Lift as a child, but the next time she appears, she’ll be a young woman. In Kaladin’s absence, she’s going to be the hero holding down the fort, especially after she trains with Zahel to become a talented fighter.

Nohadon Is Some Form Of Adonalsium

Nohadon Isn’t Who We Thought He Was

Nohadon has always been a curious character throughout The Stormlight Archive, but the ancient king we thought we knew from The Way of Kings seems even more perplexing after Wind and Truth. His final moment with Dalinar suggests that Nohadon is someone far more integral to the overarching narrative, potentially even Adonalsium itself or some remnant of Adonalsium’s power. It’s too early to suggest anything definitive, and there are some brilliant theories about who Nohadon might actually be, but it’s hard not to note that his name ends in ADON.

Adolin Will Defeat The Evil Blackthorn

Adolin Will Have Unresolved Feelings Toward Dalinar

Possibly one of the most upsetting aspects of Wind and Truth’s ending is that Adolin was left without a proper resolution to the conflicts with his father. He’ll spend years healing from his father’s passing, and even though Dalinar offered him some metaphysical touch to show his pride and forgiveness, Adolin will still likely spend years wishing he’d had another opportunity to speak to the man. The fact that there’s another evil version of his father out there now sets up a perfect moment of reckoning.

Seeing the evil Blackthorn will be devastating for members of the Kholin family and anyone who saw Dalinar as a hero, but particularly so for Adolin. Not only is this Blackthorn working under Retribution’s orders, but he’s also a copy of the version of Dalinar who got Evi killed. There would be some poetic justice to Adolin fully forgiving his father as he eliminates the essence of the Dalinar whose bloodlust effectively killed his mother.

Kaladin Will Take Up The Shard Of Honor

Kaladin Will End The Series As A Vessel

Before Dalinar picked up the Shard of Honor in Wind and Truth, he and Kaladin were considered by fans to be the top candidates to do so. Since Dalinar is no longer available, and Honor is now left in the hands of Taravangian, there’s room to consider who will end the series holding the Shard. Kaladin is the King of the Heralds, but he’s been described as the living embodiment of honor so frequently that it seems only right for him to end the series as the Vessel. After the heroes defeat Retribution, this seems like the perfect outcome.

Syl Will Bring Stormlight Back To Roshar

Syl Is The Stormfather’s Daughter

Syl is currently with Kaladin and the Heralds, but she’s the most likely candidate to bring Stormlight back to Roshar. With the Stormfather being gone, having his power inherited by his daughter could be a fantastic full-circle moment. Kaladin returning with the Heralds and Syl bringing Stormlight back to the Knights Radiant would be amazing as a turning of the tides moment, and one that would feel earned after decades of storytelling. Given that Stormlight is in the title of the series, it seems unlikely that it would stay gone for very long.

Cultivation Has A Deeper Plan Of Her Own

Cultivation Could Be Working With Other Shards

Cultivation is a major X-factor in The Stormlight Archive’s second arc, and readers have been quite hard on her for her inaction in Wind and Truth. While it could have just been handled this way for plot convenience, another possibility is that Cultivation wanted the outcome we saw. Cultivation was the one who prepared Taravangian as a candidate to become Odium’s Vessel by altering his intelligence. She was also the one who took away Dalinar’s memories and then returned them, allowing him to grieve before Odium attempted to turn him into his champion in Oathbringer.

Cultivation left Roshar as soon as Retribution did, which could have been part of her plan all along. One Reddit user posted a compelling theory that suggests Cultivation, Endowment, and Valor, are all working together, which calls back to the Valor theory from earlier. There’s so much going on in The Stormlight Archive and the Cosmere that we don’t know about, and it’ll be fascinating to see where everything leads.

Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers for Season 2, Episode 13 of Found.Found’s newest episode hits it out of the park. Season 2, Episode 13, features a nail-biting case-of-the-week, new questions about Jamie’s kidnapping, and the continued cat-and-mouse game between series protagonist Gabi (Shanola Hampton) and her now-imprisoned kidnapper, Sir (Mark-Paul Gosselaar). Found continues to provide its audience with nothing but intrigue and thrills. But one plot point it is not selling me on is the supposed death of Christian Evans (Michael Cassidy), Sir’s brother.

Christian’s in Trouble but That Doesn’t Mean He’s Guilty

Christian Evans has been in a bit of a pickle all season. His brother, Hugh “Sir” Evans, an infamous kidnapper and stalker, is now out and about terrorizing Gabi and her friends in an attempt to get Gabi to run off together with him to the Netherlands. Christian’s helped where he could with tracking down his brother this time, but his efforts have been of little use. And though Christian obviously has a fraught relationship with his brother and has maintained all season that he is nothing like his brother, things aren’t looking good for him.

Sir’s obviously working with an accomplice. We have our own theories about Sir’s accomplice. But though Gabi may believe he’s innocent, the evidence of Christian’s supposed guilt keeps stacking up. Someone left gum with DNA ties to Sir at the farmhouse. Someone shot Heather Tollin, a criminal defense attorney currently entangled with Detective Mark Trent. Someone left a threatening message at Gabi’s house. While these incidents are obviously suspicious to Gabi and the audience, they appear as damning evidence to Trent and the DCPD.

We know Christian is scared of his brother. And we know he worked with Sir enough to pass a message to Gabi earlier in the season and help Sir when Lacey wounded him. But we also know that he tried to stop Sir before he could make an attempt at kidnapping Gabi again. Gabi believes in Christian’s innocence, and there are enough red flags to at least call into question his supposed guilt.

Gabi Doesn’t Seem That Upset About Christian’s ‘Death’

Speaking of Gabi, the way we find out about Christian’s “death” is a bit suspicious. We, the audience, don’t see Christian die. All we see is Gabi tell Sir that Christian killed himself before he could be found. And while Gabi isn’t happy to deliver the news, she’s not exactly sad either — which is strange, considering she believed in Christian’s innocence.

Additionally, Found made sure to emphasize the extent to which Gabi mourns all the missing people who died before she could find them. Gabi does not judge her clients or discriminate in who she deems worthy of being found. A core tenant of her philosophy is that everyone deserves to be found, everyone deserves to come home. She even has a private room in her home where she mourns those she’s lost by putting their picture on the wall and lighting a candle for them. And yet, despite the fact this very episode emphasized the existence of this room by having the accomplice threaten Gabi by putting her photo on the wall, we never see her put Christian’s photo up. Gabi is the character we discover Christian’s “death” through, yet she isn’t mourning him at all.

If Christian’s Not Dead, Then Where Is He?

Gabi believes Sir’s real accomplice is framing Christian — and we think she might be right. During a confrontation with Trent, someone cut the lights and pulled Sir out of there. We know Sir doesn’t respect Christian and that Christian isn’t much of a fighter. And though we’ve had our suspicions about Heather, regardless of who the accomplice is, it’s clear they want Christian dead.

So maybe he isn’t dead. If Found simply wanted to create intrigue surrounding the identity of Christian’s murderer, they could have done that while still showing us his death. A gloved hand pulling a trigger or injecting him with poison would have been enough to establish that Christian is, indeed, dead without revealing his killer’s identity. But we don’t even get to see his body. And, I’m sorry Found, but I won’t believe that man is dead until I see his rotting corpse. There has simply been too much build-up surrounding Christian to just kill him off-screen. And it would be a disappointing send-off for Michael Cassidy, who’s provided a spectacular performance as Sir’s terrified little brother so far.

This only works if Christian is alive, and Gabi is hiding him somewhere in a sort of witness protection program. Gabi believes Sir’s real accomplice wants Christian dead so they can frame him. If this is true, then being “dead” might be the safest thing for him. If Christian is “dead” and in hiding, he can help Gabi track down the real accomplice and anticipate Sir’s next move without endangering himself. Christian’s been trying to get Gabi to help him for the past few episodes. And though he may be a flawed person who’s related to her tormentor, Gabi would never refuse to help someone who needed her — especially if she had good reason to believe they were in legitimate danger. Perhaps this is all wishful thinking given Christian’s relative innocence, but something is amiss in the world of Found.
