The new Secretlab Pokémon Collection has debuted, offering fans a chance to get a TITAN Evo gaming chair of three editions featuring Gen 1 fan-favorites from the Kanto region. Ahead of the launch, we had an opportunity to check out one of the chairs, and we think it’s something Pokémon fans are going to be clamoring for.
Although Secretlab has released Pokémon chairs before, the newest collab includes three editions: Pikachu, Eevee, and Gengar. The sides feature their evolutions, which is pretty cool, and each chair is styled after its respective Pokémon — from color scheme to the use of velour to imitate their softness. I got to check out the chair for Gengar, which just so happens to be one of my all-time favorite Pokémon.
Secretlab’s Gengar TITAN EVO Chair Is Pretty Darn Cool
The chair itself is black and purple, and you can see Gastly and Haunter along the sides. Gengar, of course, takes center on the front, along with its numbering of #0094. On the back of the chair, Gengar is even bigger and sporting a different pose in front of a dual Ghost- and Poison-type design.
And the chair’s material is extremely soft. I was admittedly a bit cautious about velour since I live somewhere where it’s perpetually hot, but it breathes really well. The cold-cure foam, which is very comfortable, probably helps with that too. Bonus: The chair also matches my Gengar Switch Pro Controller, so it can just be all Gengar, all the time.
Another great feature of this TITAN Evo chair is the adjustable lumbar support. For whatever reason, most of the chairs I’ve used before have a default lumbar setting that feels too low for my back, so being able to adjust it (using the dials on either side) is just what I needed here.
I’ve Never Put A Chair Together So Easily
I’ve assembled my fair share of gaming chairs before, but this was my first time putting together one from Secretlab. I can honestly say this was probably the easiest chair I’ve ever assembled. I got the entire thing done in about 20 minutes, from opening the box to sitting in the chair. If this is your first gaming chair (re: I’ve put together a lot of them) then it may take you longer, but I found the whole process to be quick and painless.
The instructions were easy to follow, and the reverse side is a giant printout featuring Eevee, Gengar and Pikachu that is now being used as a poster in my office. I can’t remember the last time I got instructions that doubled as a poster, so that was a cool added bonus.
If Gengar isn’t your thing, the Pikachu and Eevee chairs look pretty great, although, full disclosure: I haven’t seen those two in person. You can read more about them over on the official Secretlab page for the Pokémon Collection. I can certainly vouch for the Gengar TITAN Evo chair, though. As a long-time Pokémon fan, I’m absolutely thrilled with it.
