James Gunn Opens Up About Creative Process as MAN OF TOMORROW Nears Production Start Date — GeekTyrant

James Gunn is gearing up to head into production on his Superman sequel, Man of Tomorrow, which will welcome back David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, as well as Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane, Isabela Merced’s Hawkgirl, María Gabriela de Faría’s The Engineer, Frank Grillo’s Rick Flag Sr., and welcoming Lars Eidinger as Brainiac.

After the fun and wild ride given to us in Superman, fans are eager to see what’s next in the Man of Steel’s story, and Gunn recently opened up about his creative process in bringing this, and other films to life.

When asked by a fan on Threads how many takes he usually uses for a single scene when filming, and when in the process he sends a script to other people involved in a film’s production, the filmmaker answered:

“I’ve done single takes, and I’ve done sixty. Whatever it takes to get the job done. Usually three or four. And they get the script after it’s been through a few rounds of people – producers and trusted friends – reading and giving feedback. Probably the third or so major rewrite on MoT.”

Man of Tomorrow is expected to begin filming this coming spring, and it hits theaters on July 9, 2027. Knowing Gunn, we will probably start getting some cool updates and photos as soon as they start production. Stay tuned.
