Stranger Things is once again leading Netflix’s Top 10 in the United States, but it’s not the only title making headlines. A newly released mystery thriller has secured the second spot, drawing attention alongside the sci-fi juggernaut’s final season. As the series finale fuels ongoing speculation, another show’s strong debut is quietly climbing.
Stranger Things Season 5 remains #1 while all past seasons are in top 10
From December 29, 2025, to January 4, 2026, Stranger Things 5 continues its dominance at #1 on Netflix’s Top 10 TV shows in the United States.
The final season concluded with its third volume on December 31, 2025, and remains at the center of national viewing trends. All four previous seasons of the series also rank in the top 10: Stranger Things: Season 1 is at #3, Stranger Things 2 holds #7, Stranger Things 3 ranks #9, and Stranger Things 4 closes the list at #10. This marks a rare instance where all five seasons of a single series chart simultaneously in Netflix’s domestic rankings.
Netflix stated, “Stranger Things 5 Concludes Right Side Up at No. 1 in This Week’s Top 10.” The final season was released in three parts on November 26, December 25, and December 31, 2025, totaling eight episodes.
Online speculation surrounding a possible ninth episode has intensified following the finale. The theory, known as “Conformity Gate,” suggests the series did not truly end and that the final episode depicts an illusion created by the antagonist Vecna. Fans point to subtle inconsistencies in visuals, character behavior, and set design as evidence of a fabricated reality. A cryptic Netflix post reading “Your future is on the way,” dated January 7, has further fueled these rumors.
Neither Netflix nor series creators Matt and Ross Duffer have responded to the theory or hinted at an additional episode. As of now, there is no official confirmation regarding any surprise continuation beyond the eight released episodes.
Harlan Coben’s Run Away paces ahead of others with a strong debut
Run Away: Limited Series holds the #2 spot, marking its debut week in the Top 10. Netflix lists it as pacing ahead of others with a “strong debut.” Comedian Dave Chappelle’s The Unstoppable is #4, while Ricky Gervais’ Mortality ranks at #6.
