Toei Animation has offered the fans a glimpse into the highly anticipated World Trigger reboot with a teaser trailer unveiled at Jump Festa 2026. This first look showcased panels from Daisuke Ashihara’s manga to hint at the storylines set to be adapted in the upcoming anime series, including the Border Enlistment Arc, the Neighbor Invasion Arc, and the beginning of the B-Rank Wars Arc.
The teaser arrives shortly after the official World Trigger X account confirmed that a reboot is underway. The reboot promises to deliver a powered-up adaptation of World Trigger and address the shortcomings of the original. However, these improvements will be limited to Season 1; the rest of the series will remain unchanged. A release date for the reboot has not yet been announced, but the studio may share additional updates on the series during its World Trigger festival on April 26, 2026, in Japan.
The original World Trigger Season 1, which aired 73 episodes between 2014 and 2016, was met with backlash due to pacing issues and inconsistent animation. After a five-year hiatus, the anime returned with new episodes that featured significant improvements instyle and storytelling. World Trigger Season 3 concluded roughly four years ago in January 2022 and completed most of the intense B-Rank Wars Arc, with the Away Mission Test Arc set to be adapted next. And while Toei Animation gears up for the Season 1 reboot, there is no update on the production or release of World Trigger Season 4.
