Iconic Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe appears in a first look at the upcoming NBC comedy series, The Rise and Fall of Reggie Dinkins. Created by Robert Carlock and Sam Means, the new TV show depicts a “fallen football player star [who] seeks redemption and a chance to restore his tarnished reputation,” and will premiere on February 23, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
The Rise and Fall of Reggie Dinkins stars comedy legend Tracy Morgan, as well as Erika Alexander and Bobby Moynihan. The forthcoming series marks a reunion among the creative team of 30 Rock, including Morgan, Carlock, Means, and executive producer Tina Fay. Talking about the titular character of Reggie Dinkins, Carlock says: “This character is really funny, was a jock, and only means well — it’s literally Tracy.“
This quote is from an interview with the cast and crew by Entertainment Weekly, accompanied by some exclusive first-look images. Radcliffe could be the series’ secondary lead, playing a crucial role in Reggie’s attempt at making a comeback. Check out Radcliffe, Morgan, Alexander, Moynihan, Jalyn Hall, and Precious Way in The Rise and Fall of Reggie Dinkins below:
After Morgan’s character is banned from the NFL for betting on one of his own games, he hires an award-winning filmmaker (Radcliffe) to move in and make a documentary about him that will put him in a better light, while trying to make it all up to his family and friends. This includes his ex-wife, former teammate, finacée, and teenage son.
“This show is all about legacy,” says Morgan. “Because that’s all you got. That’s what you leave your children. Hopefully, in real life, I made people laugh and left my children a good legacy that they could build on.“
While Morgan is known for his comedy career and his tenures on Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock, Radcliffe is one of those actors who is unlikely to ever entirely escape the shadow of his most famous role. But as HBO prepares to debut its Harry Potter TV reboot, Radcliffe has pursued a bold acting career since the end of the Harry Potter movie series.
Radcliffe has starred in the experimental buddy comedy Swiss Army Man from future Oscar winners “the Daniels” and the Broadway revival of Merrily We Roll Along(winning him a Tony), as well as Now You See Me 2, The Lost City, Guns Akimbo, and Weird: The Al Yankovic Story.Reggie Dinkins is Radcliffe’s first live-action TV role since Miracle Workers ended in 2023.
This could be one of Daniel Radcliffe’s best movies or TV shows when he has joined a beloved comedy team who are setting out to tell a funny and meaningful new story. Many viewers may watch The Rise and Fall of Reggie Dinkins for another member of the cast or crew, but a few will likely be longtime fans of Daniel Radcliffe.
