‘Greenland 2: Migration’ Trailer Sends Gerard Butler Back Into a Post-Apocalyptic World

Gerard Butler is facing the end of civilization again in a second official trailer for Greenland 2: Migration, the sequel to the 2020 disaster thriller Greenland. Set in the wake of a catastrophic comet strike that wiped out much of the global population, the film finds the Garrity family emerging from the safety of their bunker and stepping into a world that is no longer merely dangerous, but fundamentally transformed. While the original Greenland focused on the immediate terror of survival as humanity raced against extinction, Greenland 2: Migration expands the scope of the franchise. The sequel explores what comes after the disaster, when shelter is no longer enough and the fight shifts toward rebuilding, relocation, and the search for a future.

Rather than centering on a single location, Migration frames survival as a journey. With their bunker no longer viable, the Garrity family is forced to traverse fractured landscapes and navigate unstable communities, confronting moral choices and mounting dangers at every turn. The trailer suggests a darker, more nomadic tone, emphasizing endurance, sacrifice, and the emotional toll of carrying hope through a world that has largely lost it.

The Garrity Family Faces Life Beyond Survival

This is a developing story. Stay tuned for updates from Collider.
