Warning! Spoilers for Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #7 ahead!
The InvincibleUniverse is about to get even bloodier, as the Battle Beast spin-off from the franchise’s creators cranks up the violence with a confrontation between its protagonist and the Viltrumite Empire. That’s right, the powerful Viltrumite known as Conquest, who is set to make an impact in the TV adaptation, is headed straight for Battle Beast, promising off-the-charts bloodshed.
Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #7 is written by Robert Kirkman, with art by Charlie Adlard. “2026 is all about the Viltrumites,” Kirkman said, teasing the upcoming arc’s place in franchise canon.
The author said, that “between season 4 of the show and the events of this Battle Beast series” the alien villains will take center stage in Invincible lore.

The first six issues of Battle Beast were far from lacking in the violent action department. That said, the return of the Viltrumites as the central villains of the Invincible Universe, and in particular Conquest’s return, guaranteed the series plans to ratchet up the brutality even further. Now, Invincible creators Robert Kirkman and Ryan Ottley have confirmed as much.
As Ottley put it:
Did Thragg say CONQUEST at the end of issue 6? Does that mean… this series will have… Battle Beast fighting Conquest?! Could it be?! Well, that’s just too much excitement to contain in one press release!
The artist’s questions are rhetorical, of course. The answer to all of them is “yes.” Battle Beast #6 teased Conquest as the next “Big Bad” of the series. And according to author Robert Kirkman, the true scope of the spin-off series is just starting to take shape.
Kirkman explained:
Between season 4 of the show and the events of this Battle Beast series, 2026 is all about the Viltrumites! It’s so cool that readers are finally getting an inkling of what this series is actually about. Arc one was really just the taste of the chaos to come as we dive headfirst into how exactly Battle Beast ended up in that Viltrumite prison!
In other words, Battle Beast has been slowly acclimating readers to its new take on the Invincible Universe. With the pieces of the larger picture starting to fall into place, that means in 2026 the series is going to take fans on a wild ride. Which, in turn, is part of Invincible’s continued pop culture domination.
