Pokémon Legends Z-Ais heating up with the impending release of the Mega Dimension DLC, and there’s a Mystery Gift promotion live now to celebrate. All you need to do is log into the game, start the mystery gift process, and you’re good to go.
The new bombshell gift is none other than Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y, which, you guessed it, can be used on the new-for-Z-A Pokémon and classic Legendary, Mewtwo. The reveal comes directly from The Pokémon Channel YouTube. In classic shadow-drop fashion, it’s available now.
Legends: Z-A Is Giving Away Mewtwo With Both Mega Stones
Both Of Them Are Free
Amazingly, this new Pokémon Legends: Z-A promotion is pretty generous. Not only are you getting Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y stones, but you can also unlock a side mission to capture Mewtwo.
Note that this particular gift requires you to have finished the main story of Pokémon Legends: Z-A to capture Mewtwo. That said, you can still get the stones and capture Mewtwo later on, as there is no “timer” on this event. Just make sure you get the stones through the Mystery Gift menu, and you’ll be good to go.
How To Get Mewtwo For Free In Legends: Z-A
No DLC Purchase Needed
All you need to do is head to the Link Play option in the main menu, then select Mystery Gift. For this one in particular (and most Mystery Gifts for that matter), you’ll select “get a gift from the internet.” This mechanic unlocks at the end of the Pokémon Legends: Z-A intro, when you meet Mable. After that, you can redeem Mystery Gifts to your heart’s content.
It doesn’t hurt to occasionally check the Mystery Gift feature in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, especially if you’re a lapsed player who hasn’t logged in for a while. You never know what Game Freak is going to add in the future, even if it’s innocuous additions like items. Every once in a while, though, you’ll bag a Legendary.
