Just a few weeks after Fallout Day, Prime Video has taken the marketing for Fallout Season 2 to a new level. The streamer has officially released the latest trailer for Fallout Season 2, teasing the continuing adventures of our favorite Wastelanders ahead of the show’s December 17 premiere date. Fans have been anxiously awaiting the return to the Wasteland, and now The Ghoul (Walton Goggins) and Lucy (Ella Purnell) are back as reluctant partners after being bitter enemies in Season 1. Fallout Season 2 will even bring fans to New Vegas, the central location of the most beloved game in the franchise. However, Season 2 will not adapt the events of Fallout: New Vegas, and instead continue to tell an independent story.
Fans can expect to see all the same chaos from Fallout Season 1 in Season 2, but Prime Video is doing one thing differently in the long-awaited second season. Fallout Season 1 premiered all episodes at once in a shocking binge release, which came as a surprise considering it was one of the most anticipated shows of the year. Prime Video has shifted to a weekly release in Season 2, with the first episode premiering on December 17 and new episodes airing every Wednesday until the Season 2 finale on February 4. Fallout is poised to dominate the conversation for several months.
Prime Video also has faith in Fallout to continue to perform as one of its greatest shows of all time. Over the summer, the streamer confirmed that a third season of the hit video game adaptation is already in the works. This came while the post-production team was still working on Season 2 — Prime Video seemingly isn’t worried about the second season’s performance at all.
‘Fallout’ May Be the Greatest Video Game Adaptation Ever
Fallout has easily carved out a space as one of the greatest video game adaptations of all time, and if it produces yet another quality season, it will have a strong case for the greatest video game project ever. It’s at least in the same conversation with other recent projects like The Last of Us, but HBO’s drama series has the edge right now with another season under its belt. Still, we’re living through a wonderful time for video game adaptations right now to even have two projects as faithful to the source material as Fallout and The Last of Us.
