Avengers: Doomsday Directors’ Company Didn’t Just Spoil RDJ’s Doctor Doom Costume In A TikTok Video

A new video posted by Anthony and Joe Russo’s production company features costumes for multiple MCU characters, including Robert Downey Jr’s Doctor Doom, but it isn’t spoiling Avengers: Doomsday. Ever since RDJ was announced to be returning to the MCU, this time playing Victor Von Doom aka Doctor Doom, there’s been plenty of speculation about his costume and character design.

The MCU’s Doctor Doom design was first revealed in The Fantastic Four: First Steps credits scene, in which a cloaked Doom interacts with young Franklin Richards in the home of Marvel’s First Family. However, all that’s visible in the scene is a dark green hooded cape and a very brief look at Doom’s metal mask. The rest of the costume remains unseen.

Today, a new video posted on TikTok by AGBO, the production company co-founded and led by the Russo Brothers, features two people lip-synching to the trending mashup of “What’s Up?” by 4 Non Blondes and Nicki Minaj’s “Beez in the Trap”. The focus is on the people, one holding an Iron Mask and the other a Doctor Doom mask, but in the background are a few costumes.

Behind the two people lip-synching, there are three costumes on display: Sue Storm, Doctor Doom and Franklin Richards. However, these costumes aren’t new reveals, and have been seen elsewhere, both in the MCU and beyond.

Where Are The Sue Storm, Doctor Doom And Franklin Richards Costumes From?

While the obvious conclusion is that these costumes are potentially spoilers for Avengers: Doomsday, Marvel is much more media savvy than to reveal them in this way. Sure, it could have been a leak — after all, Tom Holland and other members of the MCU cast have leaked or spoiled things on social media before. But we’ve seen all these costumes before.

The Sue Storm costume is the one worn by Vanessa Kirby in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and while she may don the same one in Avengers: Doomsday, that hasn’t yet been confirmed. It especially seems unlikely since the Franklin Richards costume is the one he wears in The Fantastic Four: First Steps credits scene.

As for the Doctor Doom costume, the all-green suit is the same that RDJ wore for his appearance at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, where he was announced to be returning to the MCU for Avengers: Doomsday. Curiously, the Doctor Doom mask isn’t the same, though, nor does it resemble the mask Doom has in the First Steps credits scene.

It’s unclear where the Doctor Doom mask in the video comes from. It doesn’t resemble the new Marvel Legends Doctor Doom mask, nor does it look like any of the masks RDJ has worn in his appearances in the MCU or to promote the movies. That means it might have something to do with Avengers: Doomsday, but until Marvel or the Russos comment, that remains unconfirmed. It could simply be an unrelated prop, or Marvel merch like the Iron Man mask.

Thankfully, with speculation circling that the Avengers: Doomsday trailer could arrive next month, hopefully it won’t be long before we get a first proper look at the MCU’s Doctor Doom costume and mask design. Until then, we can presume that this TikTok video doesn’t spoil any Avengers: Doomsday costume reveals.
